Job Overview:

The Product Manager in the automotive industry will be responsible for overseeing the development, enhancement, and market positioning of automotive products. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product Strategy & Roadmap:
  • Define and implement the product vision and strategy in alignment with business goals.
  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap, ensuring continuous innovation and improvement.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends to identify opportunities.
  1. Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with R&D, design, engineering, and marketing teams to develop and launch new products.
  • Work with procurement, supply chain, and production teams to ensure efficient product lifecycle management.
  • Coordinate with sales teams to gather feedback and improve product features.
  1. Product Development:
  • Lead product development initiatives, including new model launches, features, and upgrades.
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations, safety standards, and compliance with local and international markets.
  • Manage product testing, quality assurance, and ensure a smooth rollout of products.
  1. Customer Insights & Market Research:
  • Conduct customer research and analyze user feedback to refine product features and specifications.
  • Identify key customer segments, develop user personas, and track performance metrics post-launch.
  • Build strong relationships with dealers and end-users to gain insights into customer satisfaction and market demand.
  1. Budgeting & Financial Oversight:
  • Manage product budgets, pricing strategies, and cost analysis to optimize profitability.
  • Ensure product pricing aligns with market conditions and consumer expectations.
  1. Launch & Marketing Support:
  • Coordinate product launches, promotional campaigns, and work closely with marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies.
  • Ensure product messaging is aligned with company branding and resonates with the target audience.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field; MBA is a plus.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the automotive industry, including trends in electric vehicles (EV), autonomous driving, and connected cars.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of automotive product development, design processes, and engineering concepts.
  • Leadership: Ability to manage cross-functional teams, drive product development, and lead projects from concept to execution.
  • Analytical Thinking: Proficient in market analysis, forecasting, and product performance tracking.
  • Location: Based in or willing to relocate to Gurugram.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in automotive hubs like Gurugram, where many OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and auto suppliers operate.
  • Exposure to emerging technologies in the automotive sector like EVs, autonomous driving, and connected vehicles.
