About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead System Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in system engineering, particularly in designing and optimizing complex systems for various applications. In this role, you will lead the system design process, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and efficient solutions while collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams. The successful candidate will also be responsible for driving engineering best practices, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development and integration of avionics and electronic systems for high-speed UAV platforms.
  • Define system architecture, ensuring compatibility of avionics components, sensors, and communication systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IMUs, GNSS, actuators, BMS, flight control systems and RF communication modules.
  • Develop and implement fault-tolerant architectures and redundancy strategies for critical UAV subsystems.
  • Perform requirements analysis, trade studies and risk assessments for electronic and avionics components.
  • Oversee system-level testing, debugging and validation of avionics and electronics.
  • Interfaced with suppliers and vendors to evaluate new technologies and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Support certification, compliance and safety standards for UAV systems.
  • Maintain technical documentation, integration plans, and test procedures.
  • Identify emerging technologies and evaluate their potential for UAV applications.
  • Mentored junior engineers and contributed to knowledge-sharing initiatives. 

Skills & Qualification

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in UAV, aerospace or defence electronics systems development.

Expertise in avionics peripherals:

  • Inertial Measurement Units and navigation sensors (GNSS, GPS, etc.).
  • Actuators (servo, electromechanical, hydraulic, etc.).
  • Power management systems.
  • Flight control computers and mission-critical embedded systems.
  • RF communication systems (data links, telemetry, SATCOM).
  • Strong knowledge of sensor fusion, autopilot systems and real-time control algorithms.

Software Skills:

  • Experience with DO-178C, DO-254, MIL-STD-810 and other aerospace standards.
  • Proficiency in system modeling tools (MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS, etc.).
  • Experience in hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing.

Preferred Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with high-speed UAVs, hypersonic vehicles or supersonic flight systems.
  • Familiarity with AI-based sensor fusion and autonomous flight technologies.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and encryption for avionics systems.
  •  Prior experience with military or defense UAV projects is a plus.
