About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Propulsion System Engineer to join our team. The role will focus on the design, analysis, and optimization of propulsion systems for UAVs, including both fixed-wing and rotorcraft platforms. You will be responsible for performing propulsion system analysis, conducting simulations, and evaluating performance under various operating conditions. Your insights will drive the development of cutting-edge propulsion solutions to enhance the efficiency, power, and overall performance of our UAVs. Key Responsibilities

Solid Rocket Motor Design & Development:

- Design and develop solid rocket motors, ensuring adherence to all safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Work on solid propellant motor tank design (Metallic or Composite), grain geometry configuration, thermal insulator, and nozzle design.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, testing, quality assurance) to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing processes.

Manufacturing Process Optimization:

- Develop and implement process control methods to monitor and improve production efficiency and product consistency.
- Analyse and refine manufacturing processes to achieve high product quality and consistency.

Failure Analysis & Reliability:

- Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations to address manufacturing defects and enhance product reliability.
- Use scientific analysis to propose and implement improvements in designs and processes based on test data and failure analysis.

Energetic Materials & Testing:

- Handle energetic materials, conduct mechanical property testing, and perform thermal and mechanical property analysis of solid propellants.
- Develop and implement test setups for rocket motor systems and propellant configurations, ensuring proper data collection and analysis.

System Integration & Safety Awareness:

- Integrate systems, ensuring proper testing, analysis, and documentation of results.
- Maintain and enforce aerospace propulsion safety standards in all testing and manufacturing activities.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

- Analyse experimental data, perform statistical analysis, and generate reports using Excel.
- Present findings and experimental results clearly using tools like PowerPoint.
- Work with tools like LabVIEW to set up and calibrate measurement devices (e.g., pressure transducers, thermocouples).

Qualifications:

Candidates should have a strong background and interest in many of the following areas: thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, compressible flows, heat and mass transfer, thermal and mechanical property testing, combustion, chemistry and chemical kinetics. Required skills include:

- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred) with 3 to 5 years of experience in Solid/ Liquid Propulsion.
- Experience in solid rocket motor manufacturing or a related aerospace manufacturing field.
- Strong understanding of solid rocket motor propellant configuration design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in CAD & FEA software and manufacturing process simulation tools.
- Experience with process control, quality assurance, and failure analysis methodologies.
- Experience with design of experiments and statistical analysis.
- Extensive experience organizing and analysing data with Excel and presenting data and findings of experiments using PowerPoint.
- LabView and setting up pressure transducers and thermocouples.
- Responsible Integration of systems and other testing.
- Aerospace propulsion Safety awareness.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
