Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Center Head at IIHM Institute of Hospitality Sills, Coorg. The Center Head will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the institute, managing staff, coordinating educational programs, and maintaining relationships with industry partners. Additionally, the Center Head will be involved in strategic planning, student recruitment, and ensuring the quality of education provided at the institute.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities


1. Strategic Planning and Leadership:

  - Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the IIHM centre, aligning it with the overall vision and objectives of the organization.

  - Provide strong leadership and direction to the centre, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  - Ensure the effective and efficient management of the centre's operations, resources, and personnel.


2. Academic and Institutional Excellence:

  - Ensure the delivery of high-quality academic programs and curriculum, meeting the standards set by IIHM.

  - Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of faculty and staff to maintain a talented and dedicated team.

  - Implement robust quality assurance mechanisms to monitor and enhance the academic performance of the centre.

  - Establish effective partnerships with industry leaders and organizations to provide practical, industry-relevant learning experiences for students.


3. Student Experience and Engagement:

  - Prioritize the overall student experience, ensuring a conducive learning environment and supporting the holistic development of students.

  - Design and implement student engagement initiatives, such as industry visits, guest lectures, and extracurricular activities, to enhance their learning and exposure.

  - Establish effective student counseling and placement services to support their academic and career aspirations.


4. Financial Management and Resource Mobilization:

  - Ensure the financial sustainability of the centre through effective budgeting, resource management, and revenue generation strategies.

  - Explore and secure funding opportunities, such as grants, partnerships, and corporate sponsorships, to support the centre's growth and development.

  - Optimize the utilization of available resources and infrastructure to maximize the centre's operational efficiency.


5. Stakeholder Engagement and Networking:

  - Foster strong relationships and collaborations with industry partners, alumni, and other stakeholders to enhance the centre's reputation and industry relevance.

  - Represent the IIHM centre at various industry events, conferences, and forums to build a strong network and promote the institute's brand.

  - Engage with the local community, government authorities, and other educational institutions to create synergies and explore collaborative opportunities.


6. Compliance and Governance:

  - Ensure the centre's adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines set by IIHM, as well as local and national authorities.

  - Maintain robust governance structures and processes to ensure transparency, accountability, and ethical practices.

  - Collaborate with the IIHM headquarters to align the centre's operations with the organization's policies and standards.


Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

- Minimum 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with a strong understanding of the operational aspects of running a hospitality institution.

- Demonstrated experience in independently managing and leading a hospitality institute or a similar educational institution.

- Preference will be given to candidates from the state of Uttarakhand, with knowledge of the local language and strong industry networking.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.

- Strong strategic and analytical thinking, along with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

- Thorough understanding of the hospitality education landscape in India and the ability to align the centre's offerings with industry needs.
