Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Compliance Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with 3-5 years of experience in finance and compliance, who can manage statutory filings, ensure adherence to tax laws, and assist in the preparation of financial statements. Your expertise in financial regulations and commitment to accuracy will be crucial for delivering top-notch financial services to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key contact for clients on statutory filings, compliance issues, and financial statement preparation, offering expert guidance and support.
- Oversee and ensure timely and accurate filing of statutory forms and returns with the Registrar of Companies (ROC) and other relevant government agencies.
- Stay updated on changes in the Companies Act, income tax provisions, TDS regulations, GST laws, and other relevant statutes, advising the team and clients accordingly.
- Assist in the preparation and review of complex financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards.
- Supervise the preparation and filing of income tax returns, ensuring adherence to tax laws and regulations.
- Manage TDS compliance activities, including deductions, payments, and filing of TDS returns, while providing guidance on resolving related issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address legal or compliance issues related to statutory filings and financial statements, offering strategic input and solutions.
- Ensure compliance with GST regulations by overseeing the timely filing of GST returns, conducting reconciliation activities, and addressing GST-related queries.
- Deliver accurate and reliable financial information to clients, addressing any queries or concerns and providing strategic financial advice as needed.
- Maintain thorough documentation and records related to statutory filings, compliance, and financial statements, ensuring accessibility and confidentiality.
- Identify and implement process improvements within finance operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of progressive experience in finance operations, statutory filings, and financial statement preparation, ideally in a CA firm environment.
- In-depth knowledge of the Companies Act, income tax provisions, TDS regulations, GST laws, and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or similar platforms, with a strong ability to leverage technology for improved financial processes.
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail for accurate financial statements and compliance filings.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a dynamic environment, while also mentoring junior team members.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office applications, with the capability to manipulate data and perform insightful financial analyses.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic approach to addressing complex financial and compliance issues.
- Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and delivering exceptional service while building and sustaining strong client relationships.
