Job Overview:


We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Lead of QA Testing Unit to oversee the end-to-end quality assurance of our scalable mobile and web applications. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in load testing, testing at scale, and working closely with development teams to provide valuable input on query optimizations, database structures, and system design. You will manage a team of QA engineers and be responsible for defining QA strategies, implementing automated and manual testing frameworks, and ensuring product performance, scalability, and reliability.


Roles and Responsibilities:


> Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on quality and scalability.
  • Ensure smooth collaboration between QA, development, product, and infrastructure teams to drive quality throughout the development process.


> Quality Assurance Strategy & Process:

  • Define and implement comprehensive QA strategies for manual and automated testing, ensuring all aspects of functionality, performance, and scalability are covered.
  • Lead the design of load testing and performance testing strategies to ensure applications perform well under heavy user traffic.
  • Collaborate with backend and system architecture teams to optimize queries, database structures, and ensure alignment with scalable system design principles.


> Load & Performance Testing:

  • Oversee load testing, stress testing, and performance benchmarking to ensure applications can handle large volumes of users without degradation.
  • Use tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or LoadRunner to design and execute test scenarios that simulate real-world loads and identify bottlenecks.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to developers for improving application performance and database query optimization.


> Testing at Scale:

  • Lead the QA team in testing applications at scale, ensuring that all systems are designed to handle significant traffic and user interactions without failure.
  • Develop test scenarios that replicate high-scale environments to identify potential system weaknesses, and work with engineers to address these issues before production.
  • Ensure comprehensive testing of distributed systems, ensuring reliability and performance under load.


> System Design & Query Optimization:

  • Collaborate with development and database teams to review system design, recommend optimizations, and identify areas for improvement in query performance and database efficiency.
  • Suggest improvements to database schema, indexing strategies, and system architecture that enhance scalability and reduce latency.
  • Provide input on system design, ensuring that QA processes align with the overall architecture to support large-scale deployments.


> Automation & Continuous Integration:

  • Lead efforts to automate testing processes, including regression testing, performance testing, and CI/CD integration.
  • Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Appium, or equivalent.
  • Ensure continuous testing throughout the development lifecycle, integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for faster and more reliable releases.


> Defect Management & Reporting:

  • Establish processes for efficient defect tracking, reporting, and resolution using tools like JIRA or similar.
  • Manage the entire defect lifecycle, ensuring timely identification, prioritization, and resolution of issues.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as defect density, test coverage, and mean time to resolution (MTTR), and report findings to stakeholders.


> Trend Awareness & Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in QA, load testing, performance testing, and system design.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing efficiency, coverage, and overall product quality.
  • Ensure the team adopts and refines new QA tools, methodologies, and best practices in response to evolving project requirements.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in QA testing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in leading QA efforts for scalable, high-performance applications in large-scale environments.
  • Expertise in load testing, performance testing, and stress testing using tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or LoadRunner.
  • Experience with query optimization, database structure analysis, and recommending system design improvements for scalability.
  • Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks (Selenium, Appium, etc.) and CI/CD integration (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and bug tracking tools such as JIRA or Bugzilla.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.


Preferred Skills:


  • Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP, etc.) and distributed systems.
  • Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and optimizations for high-traffic applications.
  • Knowledge of mobile testing best practices, including real-device and emulator testing.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
