Job Title: Business Development Manager - Specification

Overview:


As a Business Development Manager focused on Specification, your primary responsibility is to drive growth by securing specifications for our products or services in key projects and with strategic clients. You will lead efforts to identify, pursue, and secure specifications, working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to position our offerings effectively.

Responsibilities:

  1. Specification Strategy:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to secure product/service specifications in target markets and projects.
  • Identify key decision-makers and influencers within client organizations and projects.Relationship Building:
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders involved in the specification process.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing technical expertise and support throughout the specification process.

2.Project Identification:

  • Identify and prioritize projects where our products/services align with project requirements and specifications.
  • Proactively engage with project stakeholders to position our offerings and secure specifications early in the project lifecycle.

3.Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to align specification efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of specification strategies and initiatives.

4.Sales Support:

  • Provide technical support and assistance to the sales team during client meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
  • Work closely with the sales team to facilitate the transition from specification to sale, ensuring alignment with client expectations and requirements.

5.Market Intelligence:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities related to product specifications.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the business development team based on market intelligence and client feedback.

6.Performance Tracking:

  • Monitor and track specification activities, including the number of specifications secured, conversion rates, and pipeline growth.
  • Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimization in the specification process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or specification roles within the construction, architecture, or engineering industries.
  • Strong technical knowledge of our products/services and their applications.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving targets and driving business growth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to engage with clients and attend industry events.
