Job Overview:

We are seeking an API Automation Engineer who has automation experience in DWH APIs to join our team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in automation of APIs for DWH applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to validate business requirements, automate system integration testing (SIT), support user acceptance testing (UAT), and support the overall software implementation lifecycle.


Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities

● Ability to understand requirements and technical reference documents and be able to

understand business requirements

● Ability to understand existing automation framework and to create or enhance the

framework

● Develop API automation scripts, testing of scripts and execute as necessary

● Identifying/creating test data to cover identified test scenarios

● Ability to use UNIX command to start, stop and ping the server and create UNIX Shell

scripts to automate the process.

● Ability to create UNIX Shell Scripts and PERL scripts for data loading, data parsing, file

manipulation and text processing needs.

● Resolving automation script issues during execution runs and maintenance of scripts

● Responsible for reporting defects found during testing and retest of defects

● Ability to understand, troubleshoot and differentiate defects, data issues and

requirement gaps

● Responsible for on-time delivery and timely escalations/update of risks, issues, status

and exemptions to leadership

● Effective communication with the team, leadership, internal and external customers

covering all aspects of team needs

● Collaborate with business users and technical teams to validate defect fixes and re-test

impacted areas

● Assist business users during UAT and other testing phases by providing support and

providing feedback for improvement.

● Awareness of different software development and QA methodologies

● Stay up to date with the latest automation tools, technologies and trends


Required Skills & Competencies

● Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies

● Exposure to ETL, DHW & BI testing

● Experience in Automation of data related API’s

● Knowledge of CI/CD implementation

● Experience in RestAssured or RestSharp automation

● Experience in Java or C# based automation frameworks

● Familiarity with DataStage, QualityStage and Teradata

● Experience in SOAP services testing

● Experience in banking/fintech applications testing is a plus

● Good analytical skills, troubleshooting and resolution skills

● Excellent communication and documentation skills

● Ability to self-learn and grasp the knowledge quickly


Required Qualifications & Experience

● 7+ years of experience in the quality assurance industry, along with relevant tertiary

qualifications

● 3+ years of hands-on API automation testing experience using RestAssured or

RestSharp is must

● Certification in ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) is a plus
