The Data Product Design Specialist is responsible for the design and conceptualization of data products within RSA, focusing on enterprise-wide domains and consumer-centric models. This role will ensure that data products are scalable, user-centric, and aligned with business objectives. The role will focus on building robust, user-led data models, product canvases, and supporting data contracts to ensure consistency and usability across business units.


Responsibilities

  • User-Centric Data Models: Develop and optimize consumer-centric, user-led data models that meet business requirements, providing intuitive and scalable solutions for different stakeholders.
  • Product Canvas Development: Build data product canvases, outlining product features, user personas, use cases, and expected business outcomes.
  • Data Contracts and Governance: Support and manage data contracts that define the structure, relationships, and flows between datasets. Ensure these contracts adhere to governance standards, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and product managers to gather requirements, design specifications, and ensure that data products are tailored to user needs and business goals.
  • Scalability and Reusability: Ensure that data products are designed to be scalable and reusable, focusing on enterprise-level data domains and ensuring alignment with enterprise data architecture.
  • Quality and Consistency: Embed data quality measures within the design process to ensure that data products provide consistent, accurate, and high-quality insights across the organization.
  • Enterprise Data Domain Design: Support the design of data products based on enterprise-wide data domains, ensuring that they are interoperable, reusable, and support multiple use cases across RSA’s business units.


Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in data modelling, data architecture, and design enterprise-level data products that support both transactional and analytical needs.
  • Expertise and sound understanding of Insurance domain.
  • Strong background in designing user-centric and consumer-led data products
  • Experience working with enterprise data domains, designing interoperable, scalable data models that align with business processes and use cases.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to gather business requirements and translate them into effective data designs.
  • Experience in ensuring that data models and designs are modular, scalable, reusable, and aligned with enterprise goals for performance and efficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of data modelling tools, and experience in Azure, Databricks and Lakehouse architecture implementations
