We are looking for an experienced Oracle Apex Developer on a contract basis who can lead a team of technical developers while also acting as an individual contributor. The ideal candidate will have at least 12 years of experience in Oracle Application Express (APEX) development, with strong expertise in PL/SQL, SQL, Oracle Cloud ERP, and Oracle database structures. This role requires a proactive leader who can also independently manage and code APEX applications. The role is remote, but occasional travel to the UK and Europe may be required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of technical developers, providing guidance, setting standards, and ensuring the successful delivery of project objectives.
  • Individual Contribution: Actively contribute to the coding and development of Oracle APEX applications, managing tasks independently and ensuring high-quality outputs.
  • Application Development: Design, develop, and implement web applications using Oracle APEX, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
  • Database Design: Create and maintain database objects such as tables, views, indexes, and sequences, and develop complex SQL queries and PL/SQL packages.
  • System Integration: Integrate APEX applications with other Oracle and non-Oracle systems, ensuring seamless data flow and process automation.
  • Customization and Enhancement: Customize existing APEX applications based on user feedback and business requirements, enhancing functionality and user experience.
  • Testing and Debugging: Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging of applications to ensure they meet specifications and are free of errors.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including application designs, user guides, and operational procedures.
  • Support and Maintenance: Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of existing APEX applications to ensure continuous operation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality applications on time.
  • Security Compliance: Ensure that applications are compliant with security best practices, including data encryption, access controls, and secure coding standards.


Qualifications:


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.


Experience:

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in Oracle APEX development.
  • Proven experience in leading a team of developers while also being a strong individual contributor.
  • Extensive experience with Oracle database (11g/12c/19c), PL/SQL, and SQL.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Cloud ERP is required.
  • Strong experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.


Skills:

  • Proficient in designing and developing web applications using Oracle APEX.
  • Strong understanding of database design principles and data modelling.
  • Ability to independently write complex SQL queries and PL/SQL code efficiently.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and individual contribution skills.
  • Proficient in communicating effectively in English, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with RESTful web services and JSON/XML data formats.
  • Knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) integration is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oracle certifications, such as Oracle APEX Developer or Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like Oracle Cloud
