Job: Supplier Development and Sourcing


· Lead and Build a comprehensive market potential analysis of Industry nodes considering future industry trends for General Merchandise.

· Drive the execution of focused categories basis defined business priorities, annual objectives and Surety of Supplies categories

· Responsible to develop strategic supply chain networks and relationships with new business partners that supports business acceleration in key countries.

· Drive planning, development, and implementation of WM Sourcing industry engagement strategies and programs to foster sourcing collaborations with industry partners.

· Be accountable for business plans/funding and manage commercial matters in conjunction with supplier development programs.

· Lead a team in the identification and building the pipeline of potential suppliers in India for GM

· Apparel – Footwear, Jewelry, Apparel, Accessories

· Hardlines – Lawn & Garden, Stationery, Auto, DIY, Hardware & Tools, Live Gardens, Sporting Goods

· Home – Cook & Dine, Arts Crafts, Bath, Bed, Furniture, Home Décor, Home Management

· Entertainment, Toys and Seasonal (ETS)

· For above categories, support company initiatives by collaborating with sourcing teams to determine plans to drive supplier sourcing goals; utilizing industry resources (for example, web sites, databases, publications) to research and identify potential suppliers; assessing supplier capacity for relevant category; communicating with potential suppliers to gather needed data; ensuring leads are identified and tracked; developing and maintaining a database of potential suppliers and their qualifications; and providing recommendations to merchandising business partners regarding potential suppliers.

· Close working with sourcing teams across the globe to understand the business priorities in the short, mid and long term. Based on the priorities advise the sourcing teams on potential new suppliers in India in line with the RAPID deployed

· Post identification and assessment of suppliers, build a robust roadmap for supplier development on their specific needs through education, trainings and other means of development.

· For the new suppliers, which are close to getting business award, liaise closely with suppliers and supplier enablement team for smooth onboarding of supplier into Walmart system including supplier audit requirements.

· Drives supplier sourcing goals (for example, small businesses, women owned businesses, minority owned businesses) by developing strategies to enhance the success and potential of diverse suppliers; serving as the advocate for diverse supplier growth; collaborating with internal and industry stakeholders to remove barriers to supplier growth (for example, develop financing options for supplier growth); evaluating small business risks and opportunities and determining needed solutions to ensure growth opportunities (for example, access to capital); evaluating supplier business models to determine sustainability and value to the company and the supplier; and providing guidance and recommendations to suppliers regarding best option for their business model.

· Work out category diversification with existing strategic suppliers in conjunction with sourcing teams, to further increase the sourcing business volumes from India

· Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.
