The GM-Operations is responsible for overviewing the entire warehouse operations & transportation operations by effective and efficient utilization of resources to deliver client products throughout the country. This is achieved through efficient and effective operational planning and scheduling in response to customer requirements and supplier availability. The position has a primary responsibility for the activities of warehouse and distribution management with both owned company fleet and subcontractors.


Seamless implementation of new projects with correct planning and ensuring effective execution at the desired agreed service levels per the agreed timelines.


Driving Continuous improvement & innovation in the services provided with tangible positive financial impact to improve bottom line (profitability) of the overall operations pan India.


Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed safety goals, in line with the annual safety plan, or real time changes in safety performance.
  • In conjunction with National Safety Manager, maintain and continuously review safety plans, this includes sub-contractors.
  • Ensure all hazards and risks are identified, evaluated, and controlled in accordance with Linfox Safety Policy and procedures and any customer requirements.
  • Ensure sound working relationships between Linfox and Customer teams at all levels thus enabling the smooth, safe and efficient and profitable operation of the contracts.
  • Contribute to achieving the strategic plan of Linfox logistics operations by aligning business objectives and outcomes and delivering on agreed objectives.
  • Identify and implement policies, and practices, including new technology, which will enhance the efficiency of warehousing operations for customers, with particular emphasis on innovative solutions, safety, environment, and quality.
  • Oversee daily activities by ensuring to meet the agreed productivity and revenues.
  • Ensure the PAN-India operational profitability targets are met.
  • Achieve agreed growth targets by implementing strategies to expand services to customers across the total supply chain.
  • Contribute to overall budget planning.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with senior management of all customers, and ensure the contracts are managed in a way which exceeds customer expectations and measured by customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Ensure compliance with customer contracts and agreed KPI’s.
  • Contribute to new customer proposals.
  • Effectively represent Linfox to the customer and report back, customer requirements to Linfox via Boards of review, other management reports and surveys.
  • Effectively co-ordinate daily human resource requirements.
  • Facilitate effective performance and development of all staff as measured by turnover, absenteeism, and participation rates in training.
  • Implement an operation excellence that maximizes productivity and efficiency.
  • Implement an industrial relation strategy to ensure nil disruptions at the operating sites & people strategy that maximises learning and growth opportunities for the team.
  • Monitor and support effective communication between the customer representative, subcontractors’ drivers, and other staff across all shifts.
  • Identify key cultural drivers that will enhance customer service, relationships, and overall performance with respect to customer service, financial performance, environment, and quality.
  • Actively seek opportunities to develop new customer relationships in Asia and across the Asia Pacific region.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the pursuit of new business in the Asia region.
  • Support the continued cross development of Asia Pacific resources throughout region.


Qualifications:

  • Experience 15 to 20 years’ Warehouse Operations & Distributions Pan India
  • Education –PG degree in business administration or Supply Chain Management
