Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS) is a non-government organization with a history of 37 years’ exemplary work on issues of national concern education, watershed management, disaster-response, and social development. Founded in 1985 by social entrepreneur and strategic philanthropist Shri. Shantilal Muttha, BJS over the years has demonstrated its impact by working at grassroots level through a nation-wide network of social entrepreneurs and with the help of its professional team, contributing to the policy-level thought process and decision making. BJS has rich experience working closely with the central, state and local governments and with national-level NGOs across the country. BJS identified water as a priority national concern in 2013 when Maharashtra faced one of the worst droughts in its history. To alleviate the impact on communities, BJS implemented large-scale drought mitigation programs across 24 districts of Maharashtra, creating massive water storage capacities by Rejuvenating water structures. It has also undertaken deep research to understand the issue further, working in partnership with State Governments, local administrations, village communities and other stakeholders. Learnings from this rich experience enabled BJS to develop transformative strategies for a district-wide water-sufficiency model, which demonstrated impact in two states – Maharashtra and Karnataka.


Job Overview :


We are seeking a passionate and experienced Manager – Brand, Media & Marketing to join our team at BJS. In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of strategic marketing initiatives to raise awareness of our organization, engage stakeholders, and support our mission-driven programs. You will play a key role in shaping our brand identity, building relationships with supporters, and driving positive change in the communities we serve.


Key Responsibilities :


  • Brand Strategy: Develop and implement brand strategies that align with our organization's mission and values, ensuring consistency and clarity across all communication channels.
  • Marketing Campaigns: Plan, execute, and evaluate marketing campaigns to promote our programs, initiatives, and fundraising efforts, utilizing a mix of traditional and digital marketing channels.
  • Media Relations: Cultivate relationships with media outlets, influencers, and partners to secure positive coverage and visibility for our organization's work and impact.
  • Content Creation: Oversee the creation of compelling and engaging content for our website, social media platforms, newsletters, and other communication channels, highlighting our achievements and stories of change.
  • Digital Marketing: Lead digital marketing efforts, including website management, email marketing, social media advertising, and search engine optimization (SEO), to expand our reach and engage with our target audience.
  • Public Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and press releases, ensuring accurate and timely responses and representing our organization in a professional manner.
  • Brand Monitoring: Monitor and analyze brand performance, media coverage, and stakeholder feedback to measure the effectiveness of our marketing efforts and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with program teams, fundraising staff, and senior leadership to align marketing activities with organizational goals and priorities, fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Budget Management: Manage marketing budgets effectively, tracking expenditures and ensuring that resources are allocated strategically to maximize impact and ROI.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and the board of directors, highlighting key metrics, achievements, and areas for growth in our marketing efforts.


Qualifications and Experience :


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in brand management, marketing, or communications roles, (experience with nonprofit sector is added advantage).
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing campaigns and strategies that drive engagement, awareness, and support for mission-driven organizations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and messages that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Digital marketing expertise, including proficiency with social media platforms, email marketing tools, website analytics, and content management systems.
  • Creativity, adaptability, and a passion for social change and community development.


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities :


  • Good interpersonal skills and abilities for effective teamwork, alongside excellent communication skill in English, Hindi and Local language.
  • Good understanding of MS Word, MS Excel and Android Apps for reporting purposes.
  • Multitasking skills, and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and take appropriate initiative.
