Responsibilities

· Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that align with business requirements.

· Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data models.

· Design and implement efficient database structures, ensuring data integrity and performance.

· Optimize existing data models for better performance and scalability.

· Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in database design and optimization.

· Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate data models into overall system architecture.

· Collaborate with data engineers, database administrators, and other IT professionals to ensure seamless implementation of data models.

· Implement and enforce data governance policies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

· Participate in the development and documentation of data standards and guidelines. Perform data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies, contributing insights to inform data model improvements.

· Create comprehensive documentation for data models, database designs, and related processes.

· Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

· Contribute to project planning, providing accurate time estimates and ensuring timely delivery of data modeling tasks.


Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

· Proven experience of around 10 years as a Data Modeler with a focus on data projects.



· Mandatory Skills

· Strong proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin,etc.), Snowflake schema, Logical Model, data warehousing

· Solid experience in AWS Redshift DB and familiar with deploying models into AWS.

· In-depth knowledge of database design principles, normalization, and optimization.

· Familiarity with various database management systems (SQL, NoSQL).

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Strong communication and collaboration skills.

· Experience with data governance practices and frameworks.

· Project management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.



Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

· Any other RDBMS skills (like Oracle, SQL server, Teradata, DB2 etc).

· Familiarity with any other AWS cloud services.
