Senior Back End Developer - Game Engine Migration Specialist


Location: Remote


We're seeking an experienced back-end developer with expertise in Gamebryo and Unity engines to join our team. The ideal candidate will be crucial in migrating assets and systems between game engines.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain back-end systems for game projects
  • Lead the migration of assets and systems from Gamebryo to the Unity engine
  • Optimize the performance of migrated assets and systems
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, artists, and designers to ensure seamless integration
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to asset migration
  • Document migration processes and best practices
  • Stay updated on the latest game engine technologies and migration techniques


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in back-end game development
  • Proven experience with both Gamebryo and Unity engines
  • Strong proficiency in C#, and relevant scripting languages
  • Experience in migrating assets and systems between different game engines
  • Solid understanding of 3D graphics programming and optimization techniques
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce)
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with additional game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine)
  • Knowledge of game asset pipelines and content management systems
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies
  • Experience in multiplayer game development
