Job Purpose


Maintenance Coordinator-Controls is primarily responsible for carrying out routine scheduled maintenance activities in line with Mars food safety & quality standards for maintaining asset health and equipment uptime. The job also involves coordinating with internal & external stakeholders to carry out the job smoothly.


Key Responsibilities


  1. Condition monitoring of equipment for defects such as breakage and excessive wear and tear.
  2. Planning & executing the corrections and corrective actions according to the observation & findings during condition monitoring.
  3. Responsible for upholding and maintaining the food safety and quality systems and documentation.
  4. Attending Breakdowns, identifying the root causes, documenting the failure, circulating the learnings and eliminating the same failures in future
  5. Carrying out Preventive and Predictive checks for improving Asset health Follow-ups with cross-functional internal stakeholder groups to ensure zero overdue actions.
  6. Spares Identification, area-wise segregation and coordination with store for right spare availability all the time
  7. Keeping track of spare inventories and all the action trackers (actions from DRR, CPs, RCAs, etc.) and escalating for any risk of delay in the closure.
  8. Ensure basic tools and machinery are in working order by performing regular inspections.
  9. Active participation in VL, Kaizen, and MSE pillar programs and supporting the team on execution.
  10. Referring electrical and control drawings for MCC (Motor control center), PLC panel (Programmable Logic Controls), Variable frequency Drives, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data acquisition), and HMI (human Machine Interface) in terms of hardware and operation
  11. Responsible for tracking your performance against the aligned objectives and targets.
  12. Responsible for delivering the aligned KPIs of factory and escalating any risk.
  13. Keeping 100% compliance to all necessary SSW validations and trainings to execute day-to-day activity.


Context and Scope


The scope of this position involves the handling of Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance activities in a shift. It involves co-ordination with various internal stakeholders, such as Manufacturing, Safety, quality, Etc. to perform the activities. Compliance of the job with safety and quality standards is one of the key requirements. It also involves the ability to maintain a balance between meeting, day-to-day issues and completing daily planned activities. The scope involves further interpersonal and communication skill, good planning & organization and problem-solving capability


Job Specifications/Qualifications

1. Education & Professional Qualification

Diploma (Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering) plus relevant experience

2. Knowledge/Experience

5 Years working in industrial/manufacturing environment, preferably in maintenance and/or engineering role, able to work in all areas of the factory.

FMCG and Food manufacturing are preferred. Experience of electrical and control maintenance

Experience with Allen Bradley, Simmons, or Rockwell. Effective communication skills


Key Functional Competencies & Technical Skills


Sound knowledge on electrical and control systems

Key understandings about methodologies such as MSE, TPM, TQM, Etc.

Troubleshooting and Continuous Improvement

Industrial Safety Standards

Experience in PLC, VFD, SCADA is highly preferable.
