Senior Vice President Supply Chain

Position Overview: The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Warehouse Management, Procurement, and Logistics is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire supply chain and logistics operations to ensure the timely and quality delivery of school supplies. This includes uniforms, bags, shoes, stationery, and curriculum books. The SVP will lead a team including the Warehouse Manager, Operations Manager, and Procurement Manager, and will have full Profit & Loss (P&L) and operational responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for warehouse management, procurement, and logistics to meet organizational goals
  • Align departmental objectives with overall company strategy and ensure seamless integration across function

2. School Procurements

  • Lead the procurement team in sourcing high-quality school supplies at the best possible prices
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure reliable supply chains
  • Implement procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements

3. Warehouse Management

  • Oversee the management and optimization of warehouse operations to ensure efficient storage, inventory control, and distribution of school supplies
  • Implement best practices in warehouse operations to maximize space utilization and minimize operational costs
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate inventory records and timely reporting of stock levels

4. Logistics Operations

  • Oversee logistics operations to ensure timely delivery of products to schools and other clients
  • Optimize transportation routes and methods to reduce delivery times and costs
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations

5. Financial Management

  • Manage the P&L for warehouse, procurement, and logistics operations, ensuring financial targets are met
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
  • Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed

6. Team Leadership and Development

7. Quality Assurance

  • Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure that all school supplies meet the required standards
  • Address and resolve any quality issues in a timely manner

8. Performance Metrics

  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the efficiency and effectiveness of warehouse, procurement, and logistics operations
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on operational performance

9. Technology and Innovation

  • Leverage technology and innovative solutions to streamline supply chain processes and enhance operational efficiency
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging SCM technologies to maintain a competitive edge

10. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, marketing, Legal & IT to align supply chain activities with business objectives
  • Communicate effectively with the Chairman and other executive leaders, providing regular updates on supply chain performance and strategic initiatives


Qualification

  • MBA degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in supply chain management with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, with a focus on school procurements, warehouse management, and B2C operations.
  • Working knowledge of Helpdesk Management System, Oracle Fusion, SAP and other Warehouse Management Systems is an added advantage.
  • Proven leadership experience with a track record of driving operational excellence and leading large, diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with supply chain technologies and software systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
