We are looking for an experienced Bunker Trading Specialist to join our hiring partner`s team

The company deals with leading global shipping customers, domestic shipping clients, Indian oil companies, and logistic companies for end-to-end integrated fuel services to ships.


Role Purpose: This role aims to provide key account management for the bunkering of fuel to International / domestic customers at identified ports. Key actions include fuel offers, negotiation, and finalization of supply contracts.

Located at a critical port city, the trader has to maintain existing relationships/alliances with clients across shipping and oil companies to support fuel bunkering, improve the efficiency of the alliance, and add value, resulting in long-term business growth for the organization.

Responsible for delivering our strategic agenda for the company. In addition, this role will receive dedicated and focused support in the execution of offer nominations This role will also be about enhancing our reputation and competitive position by extending our offer beyond today’s components by adding distinctive elements related to shipping HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) and environmental agenda, trading skills, global reach, product and service offerings.


This role reports to the General Manager Trader in the country.


Location: India or the Middle East.



Key responsibilities and objectives:

  • Engage with traders/ ship owners and intermediaries in bidding the nominations for bunker fuel supply and ensure profitable volume delivery.
  • Co-ordinate with the operations team for execution of inquiries in satisfaction to the customer. Also, clear timely updates to customers on supply status.
  • Competition scan and also periodic estimation of consumption volumes through market research.
  • Develop and recommend multi-year and annual account strategy. covering commercial offers and execution to customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively market to a portfolio of new and existing customers, establish and build relationships with a view to increasing inquiries and selling the products and services.
  • Establish and build relationships with new and existing Captains and suppliers to increase strike rate and margin on business within the region,
  • Understand, analyze, and interpret market conditions, identify counterparty needs, provide product and price information, negotiate deals, and handle general customer queries relating to the sales process;
  • Participate in both internal and external marketing activities;
  • Proactively control risks ensuring that all customers and suppliers are vetted and approved, cost of claims are minimized, and counterparty financial strength is regularly and carefully considered in conjunction with the credit team
  • Develop strategic relationships within the client’s hierarchy/functions in the areas of trading, execution, etc.
  • Network with functions internally to align resources to deliver Planned volumes



Requirements:

  • Graduate in Engineering from Petroleum and Energy or postgraduate from business school. (Experience is an added advantage).

  • Individual must with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Persuasive and influential by nature, a highly effective negotiator able to ‘think on your feet’.
  • High level of customer orientation, attention to detail, and ability to listen and respond effectively to customer queries, solve problems, and commit to exceeding customer expectations.
  • Able to work collaboratively as one team and towards shared goals but equally able to work independently with a minimal level of supervision.
