Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer with a strong background in seat design and innovation for the automotive industry. This role is ideal for someone passionate about automotive design and engineering, particularly in the area of passenger seating. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our design team, bringing fresh ideas and leveraging advanced 3D modeling skills to enhance product comfort, safety, and aesthetics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of new seat models for various types of buses.
  • Utilize Fusion 360 to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings of seat components and assemblies.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to innovate and refine seat design, focusing on ergonomics, material selection, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Conduct simulations and analyses to validate design specifications and compliance with industry standards.
  • Oversee prototype development and perform rigorous testing to ensure end products meet functional and quality requirements.
  • Engage with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible for production.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, applying the latest trends and technologies in the seating industry.
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive seat design or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, specifically with Fusion 360.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, automotive ergonomics, and materials technology.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools and data management processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience managing small teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
