Job title : Mainframe Cobol DeveloperLocation : Mumbai / Bangalore / Trivandrum / ChennaiExperience : 3 - 5 yearsOverviewWe are looking for a Mainframe COBOL Developer with 3-5 years of hands-on experience inCOBOL programming and mainframe systems. A candidate with a strong understanding ofCOBOL programming concepts, mainframe development tools, and the ability to develop andmaintain complex applications in a mainframe environment. The candidate will work closelywith cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design solutions, and implement and testCOBOL programs to support business operations.Primary Skills Required:Mainframes, COBOL, PL/1, CICS, JCL, DB2Tools: IBM Rational tools (IDz, RDz, RBD, RTC)Responsibilities:● Analyzing user requirements, envisioning system features and functionality.● Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable mainframe codes by settingexpectations and feature priorities.● Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and recommend system solutions by comparing theadvantages and disadvantages of custom development● Contributing to team meetings, troubleshooting development and production problemsacross multiple environments and operating platforms● Understand Architecture Requirements and ensure effective Design, Development,Validation and Support activitiesAdditional Info:● In-depth knowledge of design issues and best practices● Solid understanding of object-oriented programming● Familiar with various design, architectural patterns, and software development processes.● Experience with both external and embedded databases● Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes● Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests● Good verbal and written communication skills● Ability to communicate with remote teams in an effective manner
