Job Description:

As a Test Lead for our eCommerce platform built with Node.js (backend) and React.js (frontend),

you will be responsible for overseeing the testing processes to ensure a high-quality, secure, and

scalable application. You will work closely with the development and product teams, manage the

testing lifecycle, and ensure that all functionalities of the platform meet business goals and provide a seamless user experience. This role requires strong knowledge of testing modern web applications, APIs, and a deep understanding of both Node.js and React.js ecosystems.




Key Responsibilities:

  1. Test Strategy and Planning:Design and implement a comprehensive testing strategy for both the frontend (React.js) and backend (Node.js) layers.
  • Define test plans and procedures for functional, integration, performance, security, and regression testing of the application.
  • Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand the architecture, features, and business requirements of the eCommerce platform.
  • Ensure testing coverage of key functionalities such as user authentication, shopping cart, payment integration, order processing, and product catalog.


  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers to carry out both manual and automated testing.
  • Allocate resources efficiently to cover key testing areas and ensure timely completion of the testing cycle.
  • Act as a bridge between development, product, and testing teams, fostering a collaborative environment for issue resolution.


  • Automation and Continuous Testing: Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks for React.js components, user interactions, and workflows.
  • Create automated test suites for Node.js Graphql APIs, ensuring integration, unit, and end-to-end test coverage.
  • Set up continuous testing in CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Github, or similar, enabling early detection of defects.
  • Utilize tools like Selenium, Appium, or Playwright for front-end automation and Postman or Jmeter for API testing.


  • Testing Execution and Reporting: Execute both manual and automated tests, ensuring cross-browser and cross-device compatibility (desktop, mobile).
  • Conduct system, integration, UAT, and performance testing for the e-commerce platform.
  • Track and document defects using bug-tracking tools like Jira and work closely with developers for quick resolution.
  • Provide comprehensive test reports, metrics, and feedback to stakeholders, identifying key areas of improvement.


  • Quality Assurance and Best Practices: Ensure the platform adheres to performance, scalability, and security standards.
  • Promote testing best practices and establish quality assurance processes, such as code reviews and pair programming.
  • Advocate for end-user experience and usability testing, ensuring the platform meets high usability standards.



Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead role.
  • Strong experience in testing web applications built with Node.js and React.js.
  • Proficiency with test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, Playwright, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful & Graphql APIs and experience testing back-end services using tools like Postman, Jmeter or similar.
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and version control systems (Git).
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar.
  • Experience with security testing and ensuring compliance with standards such as PCI DSS.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and experience working in a fast-paced development environment.


Good-to-Have:

  • Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for Node.js and React.js deployments.
  • Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Experience with GraphQL testing
  • Knowledge of frontend state management libraries like Redux or Context API for React.
