Position Overview :

We seek a skilled and experienced Instructional Designer to play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge courses for an Artificial Intelligence (AI) degree program. In this role, you'll transform complex technical concepts into engaging and effective college-level courses. You'll collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), ensuring the instructional design aligns with industry standards, best practices in technical higher education, and quality assurance rubrics.



Responsibilities :

  • Curriculum Design: Apply your in-depth knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and quality rubrics like QM (Quality Matters) or OSCQR to create comprehensive course structures that effectively deliver AI concepts at the undergraduate or graduate level.
  • SME Collaboration: Build strong working relationships with AI subject matter experts. Gather their expertise, translate it into learning objectives, and develop learning experiences that meet the identified needs and align with quality standards.
  • Content Development: Create diverse and engaging learning materials, including multimedia presentations, interactive exercises, simulations, case studies, and assessments tailored for the AI domain.
  • Technical Proficiency: Utilize your knowledge of eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate), learning management systems (LMS), and other instructional technologies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Course Evaluation and Revision: Analyze and evaluate course effectiveness, gather feedback from students and stakeholders, and continuously iterate course materials for optimal learning outcomes, ensuring they meet QM or OSCQR standards.
  • Project Management: Effectively manage timelines, coordinate with SMEs and other contributors, and adhere to project deadlines.


Qualifications :

  • Education: Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field. A strong background in a technical discipline relevant to AI is highly desirable
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of proven experience in instructional design, with demonstrated experience in designing technical higher education courses. Experience using QM or OSCQR course quality rubrics is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to interact effectively with technical experts and translate complex information into digestible learning materials.
  • Instructional Design Expertise: Strong understanding of ADDIE or other instructional design models, as well as adult learning principles.


Preferred Qualifications :

  • Formal training or certification in QM or OSCQR methodologies.
  • Experience designing courses within Artificial Intelligence disciplines.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python) or familiarity with AI tools and frameworks.
  • Prior experience in designing AI-related training or educational materials.
