JOB SUMMARY


The primary responsibility of a Business Development Manager at a premium sanitaryware and lighting brand in India in their luxury vertical, will be to craft luxury experiences for the clients. The role extends beyond sales; it's about curating personalized journeys for clients seeking the luxury experience in their spaces. The ideal candidate has to make the brand apart by crafting a distinct identity in the luxury market and embodying the brand essence.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Relationship Building & Management

 

  • Understand the unique preferences and aspirations of high-net-worth clients, architects, and interior designers.
  • Define a customer segment in the luxury market to strategically target and tailor outreach efforts.
  • Identify potential customers through proactive scouting, leveraging industry events, networking, and market research.
  • Develop and implement a strategic approach to shift the mindset of architects, designers, specifiers, and builders from foreign brands to company's Luxury Brand.
  • Proactively identify and engage with foreign architects involved in projects within your designated area
  • Your responsibility is to position the inhouse brand as a luxury brand in the market.

 

Luxury Knowledge and Consultative Selling:

  • Acquire an in-depth understanding of company’s luxury sanitaryware and bathroom products, allowing you to guide clients through a curated selection process.
  • Develop and maintain a sophisticated understanding of the luxury market, including exclusive materials, craftsmanship, and bespoke design elements.
  • Showcase how your products have transformed real spaces to luxury.
  • Assist clients in creating personalized mood boards that reflect their aesthetic preferences. These boards as a visual guide to curate a tailored selection of luxury sanitaryware and bathroom products.
  • Employ a consultative approach, translating client visions into personalized recommendations that elevate their spaces.

 

 

Event Planning and Execution:

 

  • Identify key events within my region in which we should be attending and a part of to enhance the brand image
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure consistent luxury messaging across all communication channels.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for events that align with the luxury positioning of the brand.
  • Identify and secure partnerships with high-profile individuals, designers, or influencers to enhance the prestige and exclusivity associated with the brand. Leverage collaborations to amplify brand visibility and reach a wider audience.
  • Create immersive product showcases within events, allowing attendees to experience the luxury and functionality of company’s sanitaryware first-hand
  • Cultivate relationships with key media outlets and industry influencers to secure press coverage for events.


Team Collaboration:

 

  • Collaborate with the sales and business development team to identify new business opportunities, develop strategies, and support conversions for the company.
  • Continuously supporting my team with references for new business.
  • Be a team player to support my colleagues as and when required.
  • Support my region to achieve their set targets

 

Market Understanding and Analysis:

 

  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify opportunities, competitive trends, and potential areas for growth.
  • Provide regular reports on market conditions and competitor activities.
  • Identify new potential architects & interior designers who should be a part of the customer universe to develop the market further.

 



REQUIRED SKILL SET


Basic Qualifications:  


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field; MBA preferred.


 Experience:  

              

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role preferably with luxury market experience.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Industry-specific knowledge or experience in luxury goods, fashion, real estate, or high-end services.

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of the luxury market and consumer behaviour.
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence high-net-worth clients.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
