OVERVIEW:

Our client is a leading multinational apparel manufacturer seeking for a General Manager Quality for Blazers (Suits) will lead the quality assurance and control functions within the knitwear division. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction. The GM Quality will develop and implement quality management systems, lead a team of quality professionals, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Quality Assurance & Control:

  • Oversee all quality assurance and control activities from raw material inspection to finished goods.
  • Implement and monitor quality control processes to detect and resolve quality issues at early stages.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards.


2.Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of quality professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Set performance objectives, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Identify training needs and provide development opportunities for team members.


3.Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and increase efficiency.
  • Utilize quality tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Collaborate with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to implement best practices and process improvements.


4.Customer Focus:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for quality-related customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their quality requirements and expectations.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to address customer concerns and enhance satisfaction.


5.Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Monitor quality metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present regular quality reports to senior management, highlighting trends, issues, and action plans.
  • Utilize data analytics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.


6.Supplier Quality Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the quality of raw materials and components.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Implement supplier development programs to improve their quality performance.


PRE - REQUSITES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10- 12 years of experience in quality management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role with experience in handling blazers / Suits would be an added advantage.
