Manager-Forecasting & Scheduling will play a pivotal role in the Renewable Energy industry, focusing on day ahead & intra day renewable(solar/wind) power forecast generation solution. This position requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership capabilities and extensive experience in the renewable energy sector. The ideal candidate will lead a team to ensure uninterrupted delivery of power forecasts and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to enhance forecasting solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive innovation and fulfill regulatory commitments while leading a talented team of experts.


Experience

  • Minimum 15-20 years of experience in the Renewable Energy industry


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead day ahead & intra day renewable(solar/wind) power forecast generation solution.
  • Ensure uninterrupted delivery of power forecasts.
  • Spearhead the introduction of new techniques for weather and power forecasting including weather resource forecast (WRF) / Numerical Weather Prediction Models (NWP) models & Machine Learning Techniques while anticipating and mitigating potential challenges.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand their requirements and lead the enhancement of the solution
  • Introduce new techniques for weather and power forecasting
  • Anticipate challenges and put a timely mitigation plan in action
  • Work closely with relevant business teams and internal / external agencies to fulfill regulatory commitments
  • Create and execute project plans, ensuring that project schedule, development strategy, resource allocation, prioritization, risks and communication plans are aligned
  • Lead a team of weather scientists, data scientists, domain experts and developers.


Technical Skills

  • Expertise in short-term forecasting and power forecast generation in the renewable energy industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of weather and power forecasting techniques
  • Proven experience in project planning and execution
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and fulfillment
  • Proficiency in leading and mentoring a team of weather scientists, data scientists, domain experts, and developers
