Profile Brief: We are seeking a seasoned Architect with deep expertise in cloud-based data platforms to spearhead a high-impact project for a wealth management client. This role involves leading the setup of a Snowflake environment, creating and managing ingestion pipelines, data modeling, and orchestrating a Data Vault Architecture. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical acumen, and a proven track record in delivering data engineering solutions, particularly in the financial services sector.


Education: Bachelors/Masters (Engineering)/MBA from a top-tier university


Experience: 12+ years of experience in Data Technology/Cloud computing, with a focus on data platforms and financial services.


Job Description


Problem Solving:

  • Strong problem-solving skills, capable of translating business needs into comprehensive data platform solutions.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and metrics, influencing business and technical stakeholders.
  • Structured and analytical approach to problem-solving, with experience in financial data modeling.


Data Engineering/Big Technical Prowess:

  • Extensive experience with cloud-based data platforms, particularly Snowflake.
  • Proven expertise in setting up and managing Snowflake environments, including Snowpipe and HVR for data ingestion.
  • Strong data modeling skills, with the ability to create topical models representing entity structures in financial contexts.
  • In-depth understanding of Data Vault Architecture and its application in data sourcing to consumption.
  • Proficient in AWS services for data engineering, including S3, EC2, Lambda, RDS, Kinesis, and Glue.
  • Strong command over ETL processes and data pipeline design, particularly in a cloud environment.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, and SQL.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Git, Jenkins, and AWS CodePipeline.



Team Management

  • Proven ability to manage and nurture high-performance teams.
  • Lead initiatives within the team and department, enabling teammates to achieve career milestones.
  • Manage and mentor direct reports via 1:1s and other means.
  • Provide coaching to direct reports on their career development plans.
  • Review and manage direct reports’ performance and conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Provide leadership in difficult situations, facilitate contentious discussions, and report up when necessary.

  • Strong technical background deploying solutions on AWS,
  • Designing analytics-driven applications: Highly-Available, Fault-tolerant, real-time.
  • Proven large-scale project execution in Agile SDLC.
  • Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills.
  • Strong client & stakeholder management.
  • Technical Documentation proficiency.
  • Self-motivated and multitasking under tight timelines.
  • Ownership of company, organizational, and team-level goals.
  • Team leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Familiarity with wealth management or asset management domain.
  • Exposure to financial data and regulatory considerations in wealth management.
