Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Risk Compliance Manager at RocketPay. As a Risk Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, managing risk assessment processes, analyzing data to identify potential compliance issues, and implementing strategies to mitigate risks. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance compliance policies and procedures.

  • Work with data to understand patterns and anti-patterns to determine risk activity ranging from fraud, AML, identity theft, KYC and non-compliant activity per RBI, company policies.
  • Create rules & logic to automate classification of users under various risk category buckets on basis of data & define the scope of services to be offered as per company’s risk appetite
  • Closely work with tech team on creation of a risk engine & help the company build relevant technical infrastructure in order to monitor, control & prevent fraudulent activity
  • Define, develop and communicate key metrics that need to be monitored, to infer risky activity with respect to businesses, category, products, merchants etc.
  • Analyze data to recommend anti-fraud processes for changing transaction patterns and trends.
  • Help the team to proactively identify potential chargeback or fraud transactions.
  • Identifying suspicious transactions pattern & upcoming modus operandi of fraudsters.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Product, Operations & Business teams to develop fraud risk solutions.
  • You model data and quantitatively analyze that translates data into actionable insights and can contribute to decision making with your stakeholders, keeping company principles and customer interest as sacrosanct.
  • Draft, update and manage Risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks aligned with industry best practices and regulatory guidelines (KYC, AML, etc.).
  • Contest the fraud and non-fraud chargebacks from end customers, with the payment gateway providers and banks by gathering sufficient evidence and safeguarding the company's assets from chargeback related losses.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to senior management and business units on risk-related matters, including risk appetite, tolerance levels, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as the Nodal Officer for Grievance Redressal, handling customer complaints and ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Act as the Point of Contact (POC), Manage correspondences and communication with regulatory bodies, banks and law enforcement agencies and respond to legal notices effectively, ensuring adherence to legal requirements.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in engineering, Computer Science, Math, Statistics, or related discipline from a reputed institute or an MBA from a reputed institute or strong relevant work experience
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in the above role
  • Strong quantitative abilities, distinctive problem-solving and excellent analysis skills
  • Strong organizational, communication, presentation and project management skills
  • Experience in FinTech / Technology organizations
  • Experience in startup ecosystem or a product/Technology driven organization
  • Experience with monitoring & flagging fraudulent financial activity
  • Experience with dealing with merchant chargebacks & refunds

  • Strong working experience with BI tools (QlikView, Tableau etc) and Statistical tools (R, SAS etc)
  • Strong background in statistical modeling and experience with statistical tools such as R, SASS or SPSS.
