Job Description: Performance Marketer (D2C)About the RoleWe are seeking a data-driven Performance Marketer with proven 0-to-1 D2C brand building experience to lead our digital acquisition efforts and drive profitable growth. You will be a foundational member of our team, owning the full funnel performance marketing strategy from ground up-establishing our digital presence, building scalable acquisition channels, and creating the playbook for sustainable growth. This role requires someone who has successfully launched and scaled a D2C brand from scratch and thrives in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.Key Responsibilities0-to-1 Brand Building & LaunchBuild performance marketing infrastructure from scratch including pixel implementation, analytics setup, and tracking frameworksEstablish first customer acquisition channels and identify product-market-channel fitCreate initial customer acquisition playbook and standard operating proceduresLaunch brand's first paid campaigns and establish baseline metrics and benchmarksBuild relationships with platform representatives and secure beta access to new featuresPaid Media ManagementPlan, execute, and optimize paid campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, Google Ads, YouTube, and emerging platformsManage substantial monthly advertising budgets with accountability for ROAS and CAC targetsDevelop audience segmentation strategies and create targeted campaigns for different customer personasConduct A/B testing on ad creatives, copy, landing pages, and audience targetingScale winning campaigns while maintaining or improving efficiency metricsAnalytics & OptimizationMonitor and analyze campaign performance metrics including CTR, CPC, conversion rates, ROAS, and LTV: CAC ratiosBuild and maintain performance dashboards and reporting frameworksConduct deep-dive analyses to identify optimization opportunities and growth leversImplement proper tracking and attribution models using Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, and other toolsTranslate data insights into actionable recommendations for campaign improvementGrowth StrategyDevelop and execute comprehensive performance marketing strategies aligned with business goalsIdentify and test new channels, platforms, and marketing opportunitiesCollaborate with creative team to develop high-performing ad creatives and messagingOptimize the customer journey from awareness to conversionWork cross-functionally with product, CRM, and operations teams to improve conversion ratesBudget & ROI ManagementOwn P&L responsibility for performance marketing spendForecast, allocate, and manage marketing budgets across channelsContinuously improve customer acquisition efficiency and unit economicsPresent performance reports and strategic recommendations to leadershipConversion Rate OptimizationPartner with web/UX team to optimize landing pages and conversion funnelsRun experiments to improve on-site conversion rates and average order valueImplement strategies to reduce cart abandonment and improve checkout completionRequired QualificationsExperience4-6 years of hands-on performance marketing experience with at least 1-2 years in scaling early stage D2C brands (0-to-1 phase)Experience taking a brand from initial launch to ₹5 Cr + monthly revenueDemonstrated success in establishing profitable acquisition channels with limited initial budgetsComfort with ambiguity and ability to build processes from ground zeroTrack record of finding creative, cost-effective growth hacks during early stageTechnical SkillsExpert-level proficiency in Meta Ads Manager (Facebook/Instagram)Strong command of Google Ads (Search, Display, Shopping, Performance Max)Proficiency with Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and conversion trackingExperience with marketing analytics tools (Looker Studio, Tableau, or similar)Understanding of pixel implementation, UTM parameters, and attribution modelingFamiliarity with Shopify or similar e-commerce platformsAnalytical AbilitiesStrong quantitative and analytical skills with ability to interpret complex dataExcel/Google Sheets proficiency for data analysis and reportingComfort with SQL or data visualization tools is a plusUnderstanding of statistics, experiment design, and incrementality testingStrategic ThinkingDeep understanding of D2C customer acquisition funnels and lifecyclesKnowledge of performance marketing best practices and industry benchmarksAbility to balance short-term performance with long-term brand buildingCreative problem-solving approach to growth challengesPreferred QualificationsDirect experience as first or founding marketer at a D2C startupExperience launching brands across multiple categories or geographiesPrevious experience in startups that achieved significant scale.Strong case studies or portfolio demonstrating 0-to-1 journey with metricsExperience with additional channels: Snapchat, Amazon Advertising, affiliate marketing, or influencer partnershipsKnowledge of marketing automation and CRM tools (Klaviyo, Clevertap, MoEngage, Odoo)Understanding of retention marketing and lifecycle campaignsExperience in specific verticals (fashion, beauty, health, consumer goods, etc.)Certification in Google Ads and/or Meta BlueprintBackground in growth hacking, marketplace launches, or DTC brandsKey Competencies0-to-1 Builder Mindset: Thrives
