About the Job

To lead and manage projects within the Operation Department, ensuring successful implementation, efficient resource allocation, and cost-effectiveness while delivering exceptional customer service in the waste management industry.

Duro Green is a start-up, operating in 2+ cities and towns, envisioning to increase the waste processed to 350 tons per day by 2030. We are a team of 40 employees, aiming to hire and expand to 200+ employees in the coming 2 years. For 2024, our operations will be largely based in Surat and Ahmedabad and will expand to multiple cities from 2025 onwards.


Job Responsibilities

  1. Plant Operations Management:

 

  • Conduct regular audits of all the sites to monitor work progress, verify attendance, and manage resources effectively.
  • Oversee the proper collection, processing, and disposal of waste according to regulations and client requirements.
  • Regularly inspect processing facilities to ensure compliance, safety, and operational efficiency.

 

2. Team Management:

 

  • Hire and manage a team of executives, supervisors and workers across assigned sites.
  • Implement and enforce SOPs to ensure consistency and efficiency in team performance.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on best practices and company standards.

 

3. Management Information Systems (MIS) and Reporting:

 

  • Maintain accurate records and generate reports on operational performance, resource utilization, and project progress.
  • Analyze data and provide insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update SOPs to reflect industry best practices and company standards.

·      Ensure adherence to SOPs by team members across all sites.

 

4. Customer Relationship Management:


  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and provide tailored waste management solutions.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and ensure their satisfaction with services provided.

 

5. Project Planning and Execution:

 

  • Plan, execute, and monitor assigned waste management projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion.
  • Develop project schedules, resource allocation plans, and budgets.
  • Manage project risks and proactively identify and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Track project progress and report to stakeholders.
  • Expected to travel to multiple locations across Gujarat and India for project implementation and planning.

 

6. Cost Reduction and Operational Efficiency:

 

  • Develop and implement strategies for cost reduction and resource optimization across operations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

 

7. Liaison and Coordination:


  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, to ensure compliance and smooth operations.
  • Coordinate with other departments and teams to align waste management activities with overall organizational goals.

 

8. Compliance and Safety:

  • Oversee the proper collection, processing, and disposal of waste according to regulations and client requirements.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
  • Implement crisis management protocols in the event of worker injuries or other emergencies.

 

9. Billing Cycle Management:


  • Oversee the accurate and timely billing process for waste management services rendered to clients.
  • Ensure proper recording and tracking of billable activities, quantities, and rates.
  • Coordinate with the finance department to resolve billing discrepancies or disputes with clients.
  • Monitor and manage the collection of payments from clients, ensuring adherence to payment terms and conditions.


Technical Skills

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in waste management operations, preferably in a supervisory, operational or managerial role.
  • Educational background in Engineering, Business Administration, MBA or Equivalent or any other relevant field.
  • Strong understanding of waste management regulations, processes, best practices, and billing procedures.
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using relevant software and tools.


Salary Range: 7.20-12.00 Lakh Per annum. This is a full time position based in Surat, Gujarat.
