Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Specialist to oversee the sourcing and management of contract manufacturing for medicines. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, strong negotiation skills, and a proven track record in managing supplier relationships.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement procurement strategies for contract manufacturing of medicines, ensuring alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) based on quality, cost, and delivery performance. Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with CMOs to secure the best possible agreements that meet quality and compliance standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance and regulatory teams to ensure CMOs comply with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and other relevant regulations.
  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with contract manufacturing, including supply chain disruptions, regulatory changes, and quality issues.
  • Cost Management: Monitor and manage procurement budgets, seeking cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, new suppliers, and potential opportunities for innovation in procurement practices.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality medicines.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings to senior management.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in pharmaceutical procurement, specifically in contract manufacturing of medicines.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Pharmacy, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of GMP, regulatory requirements, and the pharmaceutical manufacturing process.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage complex procurement processes.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as required to visit suppliers and manufacturing sites.
