About the Role

Relevant Experience, Skills & Experience Required: Must have at least 10+ years of solid enterprise experience and in-depth knowledge in installing, configuring, and managing storage (NetApp, HP3Par, and Brocade, CISCO). Min 10 years overall experience, 5+ years of experience designing, implementing.


Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain storage solutions for our clients based on their specific requirements
  • Provide expert guidance and support to clients on storage best practices, performance optimization, and capacity planning
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect and deliver storage solutions that meet the needs of our clients
  • Conduct assessments and audits of existing storage environments to identify areas for improvement and optimization
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest storage technologies, trends, and best practices
  • Develop and deliver training and technical presentations to clients and internal teams
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on storage-related issues and provide escalation support as needed


Technical/Functional Skills

  • SAN storage Administration (NetApp, HP3PAR)
  • Support design & implementation of storage level backups, disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Creation of Dynamic Pools, RAID Groups, aggregates, volumes, LUNs and provisioning them to physical & virtual hosts.
  • Troubleshooting and end to end resolution of issues (Hardware, software & configuration).
  • Storage hardware architecture knowledge
  • Space allocation and reclamation
  • Virtual pool, aggregates management
  • Performance tuning
  • Knowledge on technologies like, Snapmirror, Snapvault, Cloning, Adoptive Optimization Dynamic provisioning, replicator and Tiering with Enterprise Array
  • Troubleshooting on storage hardware and software issues
  • Storage upgrade activity
  • NetApp OnCommand Unified Manage, System Manager knowledge
  • New Installations, configuration, Storage additions
  • Manage fiber switches/directors from Cisco, Brocade and Mcdata (Zoning / VSANs / FC-IP / ISL setup)
  • Storage provisioning, LUN Management, LUN masking, zoning, performance management and volume management (Planning, allocations and de-allocations).
  • Installation, configuration, and operation of Hitachi software products (Device Manger, Tuning Manager, Tiered Storage Manager, Hitachi Dynamic Link Manager and Raid Manager)
  • Monitoring and managing True Copy, Shadow Image, copy on write using Storage Navigator and Raid Manger.
  • Disaster recovery infrastructure planning, building, testing and product research/new release evaluation.
  • Monitoring and optimization of the performance, tuning, capacity planning, proactive monitoring, and automation of storage Arrays.
  • Vendor management in fixing the critical/Major issues and upgrades.
  • Work with hardware/software vendors and project groups as required.
  • Analyze and resolve escalated problems within target. Trouble shooting Storage related problems and alerts monitoring.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support for production storage assets on a rotational basis.
  • Perform end-to-end test procedures to verify storage functional operation after changes and incidents.
  • Perform a variety of related duties and tasks as required.
  • Capacity management and planning of NAS/SAN infrastructure
  • Disaster recovery infrastructure planning, building, testing and product research/new release evaluation.
  • Good knowledge about the Vendor Best practices for Performance, Availability, and security.
  • Automate system monitoring and maintenance tasks by creating scripts and applications or identifying and evaluating off the shelf tools.
  • Analyze and resolve problems involving interaction between applications, server hardware/firmware/OS and storage by working with software developers, QA, and equipment vendors.
  • Support production applications, storage and networks by responding to incidents, restoring service as quickly as possible, and investigating root causes for outages and maintaining incident logs.
  • Perform end-to-end test procedures to verify storage functional operation after changes and incidents.
  • Perform Deduplication, Compressions for the volumes
  • NAS storage administration
  • Support multiple NAS connectivity protocols like FC, CIFS, FCOE, NFS and iSCSI to best meet business needs.

Experience Required

  • SAN storage Administration (NetApp, HP3PAR)

  • Should have strong knowledge on ITIL (Change, Incident and problem management.
  • Ticketing tools – Remedy, IPCenter, ServiceNow.


Other Experience Required

  • Basic knowledge of VMware systems in engineering and production – deploy new VM’s, track capacity, update templates and perform backups.
  • Experience with VMware virtualization technology on SAN/NAS environments.
  • Strong experience with host side configurations and connectivity on windows, UNIX & ESX hosts.
  • Knowledge on Network tasks.
