Oben Electric is an electric motorcycle start-up based in Bengaluru. Founded in Aug 2020 by IIT & IIM alumni, the company is an R&D-driven organization designing, developing, and manufacturing electric motorcycles in-house along with critical EV components. With a focus on 'Design in India for the World', Oben Electric is playing a pivotal role in changing the electric two-wheeler landscape of India. The company holds 25+ patents for its proprietary technology and EV components.


Role Description

We're seeking a strategic and dynamic PR champion to join our electrifying journey As our PR Manager, you'll lead the charge in building Oben Electric’s brand awareness, securing impactful media coverage, and safeguarding the reputation in the ever-evolving electric motorbike landscape. Lead our communication strategy, crafting narratives and navigating media landscapes.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute PR strategies to promote Company's brand, products, and initiatives.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, bloggers, and influencers.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, media pitches, and other PR materials.
  • Coordinate media interviews, press events, and other publicity opportunities.
  • Monitor media coverage and prepare reports on PR performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure PR efforts align with overall marketing and business objectives.
  • Handle crisis communications and manage reputation risks effectively.


Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience in public relations, preferably within PR agency handling technology or automotive industry clients.
  • Proven track record of securing positive media coverage in national and regional media outlets.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, thriving in both fast-paced and pressure-filled situations.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.
  • Passionate about electric vehicles and the future of mobility.

  • Experience working with startups or fast-growing companies.
  • Knowledge of the electric motorbike industry.
