We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Organic Texture Artist to join our team. Your artistic expertise and attention to detail will play a crucial role in enhancing the visual quality and overall immersion of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Texture Creation: Develop and create high-quality, photo-realistic textures for organic objects, including characters, creatures, and natural elements such as foliage, rocks, and terrain.
Texture Mapping: Apply textures accurately and efficiently to 3D models, ensuring proper UV layout and seamless integration with the overall asset.
Material Development: Collaborate with the shading and lighting teams to develop appropriate materials that align with the artistic vision and technical requirements of the project.
Research and Reference: Conduct thorough research and gather reference materials to ensure accurate representation of organic surfaces, including various skin types, fur, scales, and other natural elements.
Optimization: Work closely with the technical art team to optimize textures and ensure efficient memory usage while maintaining visual quality and performance targets.
Quality Control: Perform regular quality checks and revisions to ensure that textures meet the desired artistic standards and technical specifications of the project.
Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques related to organic texture creation, and contribute innovative ideas to improve workflows and visual quality.
Qualifications:
Professional Experience: Proven experience as a Texture Artist or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing organic texture work for characters, creatures, and natural environments in video games, films, or related industries.
Proficiency in 3D Software: Expert knowledge of industry-standard 3D software packages such as Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Substance Painter, or equivalent tools.
Texture Painting Skills: Strong artistic skills with a keen eye for detail, color, and composition, coupled with excellent painting and texture creation abilities.
Understanding of Organic Surfaces: In-depth knowledge of organic surface characteristics, such as skin, fur, scales, and vegetation, as well as an understanding of how lighting and shading affect their appearance.
Collaboration and Communication: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with artists, and other team members to achieve project goals.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements and technical limitations.
Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment, with the flexibility to adapt to project needs and evolving technologies.
