Position Summary

As a Tableau Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of the Tableau Server and Tableau Online environments. You will work closely with data analysts, developers, and IT teams to ensure that Tableau serves as a robust platform for data visualization and analytics across the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

💼 Server Management: Install, configure, and maintain Tableau Server and Tableau Online, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.

💼 User Management: Manage user permissions, roles, and access controls within Tableau to

ensure data security and compliance with organizational policies.

💼 Performance Tuning: Monitor Tableau performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize server configurations to enhance user experience and reduce downtime.

💼 Upgrades and Patches: Plan and execute Tableau Server upgrades, patches, and routine

maintenance with minimal disruption to users.

💼 Data Sources: Manage and configure data sources, including the connection of Tableau to various databases, data warehouses, and cloud services.

💼 Automation: Develop scripts and tools to automate routine administrative tasks, such as backup and restore, monitoring, and report generation.

💼 Security: Implement and enforce security best practices for Tableau Server, including data

encryption, network security, and auditing.

💼 Monitoring and Reporting: Set up and manage monitoring tools to track Tableau Server

health, usage, and performance metrics. Generate reports to provide insights into usage patterns and resource allocation.

💼 Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure that Tableau meets the evolving needs of the business and supports data-driven decision-making.

💼 Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of Tableau Server configurations,

processes, and policies.

💼 Support: Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and assist with

performance-related queries.


Requirements:

💪 Experience: Minimum of 5 - 8 years of experience as a Tableau Administrator or in a similar

role managing Tableau Server.

💪 Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with Tableau Server and Tableau Online, including installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.

💪 Data Integration: Experience connecting Tableau to various data sources such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, and cloud data warehouses.

💪 Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation purposes.

💪 Performance Optimization: Expertise in performance tuning and monitoring Tableau environments to ensure efficient use of resources.

💪 Security: Knowledge of security best practices, including user management, access controls, and data governance.

💪 Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.

💪 Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work

effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

💪 Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science,

or a related field (or equivalent experience).


Preferred Qualifications:

1. Tableau Server Certified Associate or Professional certification.

2. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for hosting Tableau.

3. Familiarity with other BI tools and platforms (e.g., Power BI, Qlik).

4. Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
