About the Role:


We are seeking an experienced Custom Video Player Developer proficient in React.js, Node.js, and Python to create a robust, high-performance video player. The player should provide seamless functionality across all platforms and browsers, including Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Apple TV, with features comparable to YouTube.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Build a custom video player with advanced features, ensuring compatibility with all major platforms and browsers.
  • Cross-Platform Functionality: Ensure the player operates smoothly on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Apple TV.
  • Video Streaming: Implement adaptive streaming technologies such as DASH and HLS for seamless playback.
  • User Experience: Develop an intuitive and responsive user interface using React.js, tailored to provide a YouTube-like experience.
  • Backend Integration: Build scalable backend systems using Node.js and Python to handle video hosting, streaming, and related services.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize the video player for high performance, low latency, and minimal buffering across varying network conditions.
  • Browser and Device Compatibility: Ensure compatibility with major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and diverse screen resolutions/devices.
  • Security: Implement DRM and other video protection measures to safeguard content.


Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in React.js, Node.js, and Python.
  • Strong experience in building custom video players or working with video player libraries (e.g., Video.js, Shaka Player).
  • Knowledge of video codecs, streaming protocols (HLS, DASH), and media formats (MP4, WebM, etc.).
  • Familiarity with DRM technologies (e.g., Widevine, FairPlay).
  • Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience working with cloud services and CDNs for video delivery.
  • Good knowledge of debugging and performance profiling tools.


Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with frameworks for native development on iOS, Android, and Apple TV.
  • Knowledge of WebAssembly for performance-intensive tasks.
  • Experience with AI/ML for video analytics or personalized recommendations.
