Job Brief:

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Video Editor Intern to join our brand and social media team at The Wedding Company. You will play a key role in crafting visually stunning and emotionally captivating video content that reflects the beauty, joy, and elegance of weddings. This role is perfect for someone who has a passion for storytelling, creativity, and the technical expertise to bring ideas to life through video.



Key Responsibilities:


Video Editing:

  • Edit short-form and long-form video content for platforms like Instagram (Reels), YouTube, and Facebook.
  • Create dynamic, engaging videos that highlight The Wedding Company’s services, client stories, and industry trends.

Content Ideation & Storyboarding:

  • Collaborate with the creative team to conceptualize video ideas, storyboards, and sequences.
  • Ensure all content aligns with the brand’s tone, style, and visual identity.

Post-Production Work:

  • Add sound effects, music, transitions, and motion graphics to enhance video quality.
  • Optimize videos for different platforms (aspect ratios, resolution, and file size).

Shoot Assistance (Optional):

  • Assist during video shoots, including setting up equipment, lighting, and capturing behind-the-scenes content.

Trend Spotting & Innovation:

  • Stay updated on social media and wedding industry video trends to create fresh, trendy, and shareable content.
  • Experiment with new formats and techniques to keep content visually exciting.

File Management:

  • Maintain an organized database of video projects and ensure timely delivery of edited content.



Key Skillset Required:


Technical Video Editing Skills:

  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Knowledge of basic motion graphics and animation in After Effects (preferred).
  • Familiarity with color correction, grading, and audio syncing.

Creative Storytelling:

  • Strong understanding of pacing, transitions, and storytelling techniques to create emotional and engaging content.
  • Ability to translate raw footage into polished, professional videos that capture the magic of weddings.

Social Media Video Expertise:

  • Knowledge of aspect ratios, formats, and best practices for Instagram Reels, YouTube, and Facebook.
  • Ability to edit videos optimized for trends, audience engagement, and virality.

Aesthetic Sense:

  • An eye for detail and understanding of visual aesthetics, especially in the wedding and lifestyle industries.
  • Experience with visual effects, typography, and integrating branding elements into videos.

Organizational Skills:

  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple editing projects with tight deadlines.
  • Efficient organization of raw footage, final edits, and project files.

Teamwork & Collaboration:

  • Ability to work closely with the social media team, graphic designers, and marketing professionals to align on content goals.
  • Open to feedback and willing to make iterative changes.

Adaptability:

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing trends, tools, and creative directions.

Optional but Preferred:

  • Basic videography skills (camera operation, lighting, framing) are a plus.
  • Experience with tools like Photoshop, or Lightroom for basic graphic or thumbnail creation.
