About the Business Unit

The Languages business encompasses all non-English or Indic Brands within the Times Internet portfolio, featuring a presence in eight regional languages across India, including Navbharat Times in Hindi, Maharashtra Times in Marathi, Vijay Karnataka in Kannada, Samayam in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, and I am Gujarat.

Our Languages division stands as the fastest-growing regional content platform in India. We have an audience base of 180 million users, with approximately one in every four Indians engaging with Times Internet Languages Platforms. We are the leading news and information player in the Indic Languages category on Comscore. We have maintained this dominance for several years now.

Diversity is at the heart of our community. Our audience is predominantly young, primarily below the age of 34 and has a strong female presence. We have a strong presence on social platforms with 24Mn followers on Facebook and 14Mn subscribers on Youtube, as on 15th Apr’24.

We've recently expanded our portfolio with two new brands. Additionally, we launched TimesXP, a video-first platform for Indic languages, with a vision to democratize internet access for unlettered audiences.


About the Role

We are looking for a talented and creative Sr Video Editor to join our team. The Video Editor will be responsible for assembling recorded footage into a finished project that aligns with the company’s vision and storytelling goals. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, excellent editing skills, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.


Work Responsibilities:


  • Video Editing: Edit raw footage into polished videos, including cutting, splicing, and arranging video clips to create a coherent and engaging story.
  • Content Creation: Collaborate with the creative team to produce video content that aligns with the company’s brand, objectives, and audience.
  • Post-Production: Enhance video content with graphics, special effects, sound, and music to achieve the desired final product.
  • Color Correction: Adjust color, lighting, and exposure to ensure a consistent look and feel across all video content.
  • Audio Editing: Sync and clean up audio, add sound effects, and balance sound levels to create a high-quality audio-visual experience.
  • File Management: Organize and manage video assets, ensuring that all files are properly stored and archived for future use.
  • Quality Control: Review final outputs for quality, ensuring they meet technical standards and brand guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with directors, producers, and other team members to ensure that the final product aligns with the creative vision.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple editing projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, editing software, and best practices to continuously improve skills and processes.


Skills, Experience & Expertise:

  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of video production processes, including pre-production, shooting, and post-production.
  • Ability to work with various video formats, codecs, and resolutions.
  • Knowledge of motion graphics and visual effects is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Eligibility:

Technical Skills: Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, etc.).

Creative Skills: Strong storytelling ability, understanding of pacing, rhythm, and visual composition.

Attention to Detail: Ability to notice and correct errors, maintain consistency in visual and audio elements.

Time Management: Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Communication: Good communication skills to understand and execute the client's vision.

Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating your editing skills across various projects (short films, commercials, music videos, etc.).

Work Experience: 5-7 years
