Specialist - Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

Location : Navalur, Chennai



Job Summary:

The FP&A Specialist focuses on comprehensive financial reporting and analysis to support product teams, driving profitability and performance. This role emphasizes detailed financial reporting, variance analysis, and data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making.



Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports on product performance, including sales, margins, and profitability.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to provide real-time financial insights to stakeholders.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial reports and presentations.


Variance Analysis:

  • Analyze variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts at the product level, providing clear explanations and actionable recommendations.
  • Monitor and report on key financial metrics, identifying trends and deviations from targets.


Financial Planning & Forecasting:

  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing historical data, trend analysis, and financial models for product lines.
  • Update and maintain long-range financial plans with a focus on product profitability.


Ad Hoc Reporting & Analysis:

  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions, product launches, and strategic initiatives.
  • Respond promptly to senior management inquiries regarding product financial performance and projections.


Product Profitability & Cost Analysis:

  • Conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Prepare profitability reports for each product line, highlighting areas for margin improvement.


Business Partnering:

  • Collaborate with product management, marketing, sales, and operations teams to gather relevant data and insights.
  • Provide financial reporting and analysis support to help product teams make informed decisions.


Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement improvements in financial reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Standardize reporting formats and templates to ensure consistency across the organization.


Compliance & Control:

  • Ensure all financial reporting adheres to corporate policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and financial reports.



Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Min 2+ years of experience in financial reporting and analysis, preferably in a product-based organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and Excel.
  • Knowledge of financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or related field.
  • Professional certification (CFA, CPA, CIMA).
  • Experience in product cost analysis and margin improvement.
