We are seeking a seasoned tax professional from Projects based Organization in EPC/ Oil & Gas Industry Only. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing tax strategies, managing compliance, and providing guidance on tax matters to support the company's business objectives. This role requires strong technical expertise in Indian tax laws, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to navigate complex tax issues effectively in


Key Responsibilities:


Direct Tax Management:

  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company's direct tax position, including corporate income tax, withholding tax, and capital gains tax.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable direct tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements.
  • Provide guidance on tax implications of business transactions, investments, and restructuring activities.
  • Liaise with tax authorities, external advisors, and internal stakeholders on direct tax matters, including audits and assessments.

Indirect Tax Management:

  • Oversee compliance with indirect taxes, including Goods and Services Tax (GST), Value Added Tax (VAT), Central Excise Duty, and Customs Duty.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize indirect tax liabilities and optimize input tax credits.
  • Monitor changes in indirect tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company's operations.
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities, resolve disputes, and represent the company in indirect tax assessments and appeals.

Tax Planning and Advisory:

  • Provide proactive tax advice and support to business units on a wide range of tax issues, including cross-border transactions, transfer pricing, and tax-efficient structuring.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and risks and recommend appropriate courses of action to mitigate tax exposure.
  • Stay abreast of developments in tax laws, regulations, and judicial precedents and assess their implications for the company.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of direct and indirect tax returns, including annual tax provisions and quarterly GST returns.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors to gather necessary data and information for tax compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Review tax computations, provisions, and disclosures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Tax Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess tax risks associated with the company's operations and transactions.
  • Implement controls and procedures to mitigate tax risks and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their potential impact on the company's tax position.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field. Additional professional qualifications such as Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in direct and indirect tax management, preferably with a multinational corporation or professional services firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, including recent developments and amendments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management, tax authorities, and external advisors.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including the ability to lead and develop a team of tax professionals.
  • Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
