Position Overview

The Licensed Pharmacist at HealthSy will contribute to creating and maintaining a robust database of medicines, ensuring accurate data management, and verifying prescriptions for patient orders. Working from our office, this role will also involve supporting third-party licensed pharmacists with prescription validation and helping maintain high standards of patient care and compliance. This position focuses on the back-end pharmaceutical processes rather than a traditional retail setting, making it ideal for pharmacists interested in the data and operational aspects of pharmacy services.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Database Management:

  • Build and maintain a comprehensive database of medicines, ensuring accuracy and completeness in data such as molecule information, brand names, classifications, uses, and interactions.
  • Organize, update, and classify pharmaceutical data, maintaining consistency and quality for ease of reference and patient safety.
  • Regularly audit the database to ensure information is current and complies with industry standards.


2. Prescription Verification:

  • Review and verify prescriptions for orders placed by users through HealthSy’s platform, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and accuracy in medication dispensing.
  • Confirm dosage, drug interactions, and any possible contraindications, collaborating with medical teams when needed for clarification.
  • Ensure prescriptions align with best practices and HealthSy’s patient care guidelines.


3. Support to Third-Party Pharmacists:

  • Provide support and guidance to third-party licensed pharmacists handling prescription verification, assisting with complex cases as needed.
  • Act as a resource for third-party pharmacists, offering expertise on drug classifications, contraindications, and best practices in prescription validation.
  • Help facilitate streamlined communication and workflow between HealthSy and its third-party pharmacy partners.


4. Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with legal regulations, industry standards, and HealthSy’s internal protocols.
  • Document prescription validations and relevant processes meticulously, keeping a record for compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Participate in audits and quality checks to uphold HealthSy’s commitment to safe and reliable pharmacy practices.


5. Collaborative Support:

  • Work closely with the medical and technical teams to improve data integrity and optimize the prescription verification process.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss database enhancements, new prescription guidelines, and updates in healthcare regulations.
  • Provide feedback to continuously improve HealthSy’s platform, helping to enhance user experience and operational efficiency


Qualifications:

  • Valid pharmacy license and good standing with a relevant national or state licensing body.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
  • 2+ years of experience in pharmacy data management, prescription verification, or related fields.
  • Experience in a digital healthcare setting is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, classifications, and uses.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work meticulously with large sets of data.
  • Proficient in data management tools and software; experience with healthcare software platforms is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross functional team.
