At Utkast AI, we’re changing how people work.We believe the future of work isn’t about doing more — it’s about doing less of what doesn’t matter.The endless admin, the meeting notes, the follow-ups, the email threads — that’s not the real work.The real work is thinking, creating, connecting, and leading.Utkast exists to remove the boring middle work that slows people down — automating everything from email writing to meeting notetaking and summaries — so professionals can focus on what truly drives progress.We’re building an intelligent layer that lives across your communication and workflow, learns your voice and context, and quietly works alongside you.This isn’t just another productivity app.It’s a new way to work.If you want to help shape that future — join us, and build something that truly changes how people work.About the RoleWe’re looking for an experienced Backend Engineer who’s passionate about building the infrastructure behind an AI that understands people.You’ll design APIs, data pipelines, and integrations that allow Utkast to learn, summarize, and communicate in real time — securely and at scale.You’ll be part of a small, fast-moving founding team, working closely with AI and frontend engineers to deliver systems that feel effortless to users but are deeply complex under the hood.You willBuild and scale backend APIs using FastAPI / Python, and/or NodejsIntegrate with data sources, email, communication and Calendar systemsDesign contextual data pipelines that power AI learning loopsManage async tasks and queues in a scalable wayEnsure security, privacy, and clean data architectureCollaborate with AI and frontend teams to support new featuresYou bringExpert level backend experience (preferably Python or Nodejs)Strong understanding of async programming and REST/WebSocket APIsExperience with OAuth2, JWT, and cloud deployment (AWS, Docker, CI/CD)Curiosity for how backend systems can empower AI-driven productsYou’ll thrive here ifYou want to build something meaningful, work autonomously, and love the idea of creating infrastructure that helps humans focus on real work — not maintenance tasks.
