Position Title: SAP Functional Test Lead

Location: Onsite (Houston-Texas)

Job Type: Full Time

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SAP Testing Lead to develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies for our SAP projects. You will oversee the creation of test plans, test cases, and test scripts, encompassing functional, integration, regression, and performance testing. In this leadership role, you will guide a team of SAP testers, assigning tasks, offering mentorship, and reviewing test deliverables to ensure they meet our quality standards and project timelines.

You will collaborate closely with project managers, business stakeholders, and IT teams to grasp project requirements, objectives, and scope. Your role will also involve designing and implementing testing strategies aligned with business needs, documenting defects, tracking issues, and ensuring timely communication of testing results and updates.


Additionally, you will work with functional leads and technical teams to troubleshoot issues, analyze root causes, and propose solutions for defects and performance bottlenecks in the SAP system. Conducting risk assessments and mitigating testing risks throughout the project lifecycle will be crucial, as will staying current with SAP technologies, industry trends, and testing tools to continuously enhance our testing methodologies.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of relevant experience, with a strong preference for expertise in SAP Digital & Entertainment.
  • Proven track record as an SAP Testing Lead or in a similar role, with hands-on experience in SAP modules and functionalities.
  • Deep understanding of SAP systems, including SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP Fiori.
  • Expertise in creating and executing test plans, cases, and scripts for SAP applications.
  • Familiarity with test management tools such as HP ALM, JIRA, or SAP Solution Manager.
  • Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans for SAP modules (FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, etc.), including unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Define the scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines for testing activities.
  • Ensure alignment of testing strategy with overall project objectives and timelines.
  • Design detailed test cases and scripts based on business requirements, technical designs, and functional specifications.
  • Lead and coordinate the execution of test cases, ensuring thorough coverage of both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Oversee automation testing where applicable and ensure test automation scripts are created and maintained Lead, manage and mentor team of SAP testers.
  • Solid grounding in testing methodologies, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in SAP (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate) or Testing (e.g., ISTQB).
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks for SAP (e.g., SAP CBTA, UFT, Tosca).
  • Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology.
  • Background in the Oil and Gas domain.
  • Knowledge of SAP Cloud Platform and integration technologies.
