Design Engineer - Mechanical

Work Location - Trivandrum

The Opportunity:

ø Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand the requirements from Customer and convert it to product.
  • Answer RFQ and provide technical solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Design and development of automotive Products, preferably electromechanical products but not limited to it.
  • Participate in regular meeting with project team, internal stake holders, suppliers and customers.
  • Strong experience in any CAD Package- Catia, Creo, Solidworks etc. preferably Catia.
  • Create 2D drawing based on ISO standards along with SPPC and its control plan.
  • Perform stackup analysis.
  • Exposure to various domains of simulation including Strength, vibration, thermal and provide input to CAE team.
  • Create proposal and solution for issues in design, simulation, testing and assembly line.

ø Qualification & Skills:

  • Mechanical Design with 3 +years of experience.
  • Design and development experience in sheet metal, Casting, Molding, 3D printing, welding, rubber etc.
  • Knowledge in various IP rating requirements, thermal management , EMI topics related to electromechanical products.
  • Create product and parts with DFM, DFA and DFX approach.
  • Experience in designing aesthetic products with different surface finish requirements.
  • Proficient in various assembly techniques like screwing, welding, riveting, snap fit etc.

ø Must have:

  • Strong experience in any CAD of Package- Catia, Creo, Solidworks etc. preferably Catia.
  • Experience in full life cycle of Automotive Products starting from RFQ to SOP.
  • Strong experience in Automotive Product Validation and testing methods and tools.
  • Good communication skills.

ø Good to have:

  • Mechatronic/ electromechanical enclosure design experience.
  • Exposure to Embedded hardware design, layout, schematics, PCBA, HW exchange protocol and exchange methodology like Gerber files, EMN files.
  • Product Design exposure with sketching, modeling and rendering tools.
  • Exposure to DFMEA, DRBFM, DVPR for the product.
  • Conduct DTC and VAVE of product for cost reduction.
  • Part and Product Validation as per the EV, DV, PV plans using appropriate methodology and tools.
  • Perform supplier reviews and part validation.
  • Core tools knowledge (APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, RDDP, CP, SPC, MSA).
