We seek a skilled and experienced Legal Manager specializing in Land Acquisition to join our team. The Legal Manager will oversee all legal aspects of land acquisition for our development projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, exceptional legal expertise, and a proven track record of successfully managing land acquisition activities.


Budget: 10-12 LPA (INR)


Location: Pune / Satara / Solapur


Key Responsibilities: 

1.     Manage onsite team/s and/or land contractors involved in land acquisition activities, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration.

2.     Plan, strategize, implement, and monitor land acquisition activities, analyzing progress and addressing any issues or challenges that may arise.

3.     Analyze, interpret, and present data, status progress, issues, solutions, and strategies to the Project Team and other Departments, including Senior Management, as necessary.

4.     Participate in planning, strategic meetings, updates, and coordination sessions with the Project Team, providing valuable insights and recommendations.

5.     Prepare land budgets for development projects, ensuring accurate estimation and monitoring of land-related expenditures.

6.     Manage administrative tasks related to land acquisition, including document management, liquidations, DTR reviews, and submissions.

7.     Coordinate the acquisition of project sites, including land use rights, road right of way, and transmission right of way over private and public lands.

8.     Prepare and implement approved frameworks and policies for land acquisition, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

9.     Conduct review and due diligence of land-related documents, such as titles and tax declarations, to assess feasibility and mitigate risks.

10.  Negotiate and draft framework contracts with landowners, sponsors, and other stakeholders, seeking mutually beneficial terms for all parties involved.

11.  Coordinate with regulatory agencies and institutions to obtain permits, clearances, and licenses related to land acquisition, advocating for project interests.

12.  Develop schedules for project milestone completion and implement process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

13.  Secure long-term rights over land, including leasehold rights, with proper annotation and documentation.

14.  Ensure completeness and accuracy of all land rights documents, including the perfection of documentation of real property right relations.

15.  Stay updated on legal developments and best practices related to land acquisition, continuously improving processes and strategies.


Qualifications: 

1.     Bachelor's degree in Law or related field. Master's degree preferred.

2.     Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in land acquisition or real estate law, preferably in the renewable energy or infrastructure sector.

3.     Strong legal expertise with a focus on land acquisition, including contract negotiation and drafting.

4.     Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.

5.     Proven ability to analyze complex data and present insights and recommendations to decision-makers.

6.     Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

7.     Experience managing teams and contractors in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

8.     Knowledge of land acquisition regulations, permits, and licensing processes.

9.     Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software/tools.


1.     ordinate REC (Renewable Energy Certificate) related activities, including SLDC (State Load Dispatch Center) registration and accreditation certificate acquisition.

2.     Obtain NLDC (National Load Dispatch Center) registration for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

3.     Handle statutory documentation and approvals for authorities, including environmental clearances, building permits, and other necessary licenses.

4.     Act as the primary point of contact for government agencies and regulatory bodies, building and maintaining positive relationships.

5.     Stay updated on changes in government policies, regulations, and procedures related to renewable energy projects, providing guidance and recommendations to internal stakeholders.


Qualifications: 

1.     Bachelor's degree in Law, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

2.     Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in government liaisoning or regulatory affairs, preferably in the renewable energy sector.

3.     Strong understanding of government procedures and regulations related to renewable energy projects.

4.     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with government officials and internal stakeholders.

5.     Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

6.     Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

7.     Ability to work independently and take initiative to resolve issues and drive results.


Travel Policy:


The Legal manager will report to Pune office while the sites that you might need to visit will be designated by the supervisors, any travel done for business purposes will be reimbursed by the company.
