We are a full-stack financial services organisation, committed to helping Indian businesses with comprehensive and innovative payment and business banking solutions built over robust technology to address the entire length and breadth of the payment and banking journey for any business. Over the past year, we've disbursed loans worth millions of dollars in loans to thousands of businesses. In parallel, Razorpay is reimagining how businesses manage money by simplifying business banking (via Razorpay X ) and enabling capital availability for businesses (via Razorpay Capital ).


The Role:


Razorpay is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Events to lead the planning, organization, and execution of all company events, including our Annual Mega events, conferences, roundtables, corporate meetings, and special events. This role demands a person with strong leadership abilities and a proven track record in event management. The ideal candidate will be creative, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while driving strong execution.


Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive events strategy aligned with Razorpay's goals and brand vision.
  • Conduct market research to identify new event opportunities and trends relevant to the fintech industry.
  • Event Management:
  • Oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, including logistics, budgeting, vendor management, and onsite operations.
  • Ensure events are delivered on time, within budget, and meet or exceed expectations.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and manage the events team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
  • Budgeting and Financial Management:
  • Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and financial accountability.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and venues to secure the best possible rates and terms.
  • Marketing and Promotion:
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies and materials to maximize event attendance and engagement.
  • Utilize digital marketing tools and social media platforms to enhance event visibility and reach.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, sponsors, partners, and participants.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all event-related inquiries and communications.
  • Performance Analysis:
  • Analyze event performance metrics and gather feedback to continually improve and innovate event offerings.
  • Provide detailed post-event reports, including financial analysis and attendee feedback.


Mandatory Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in event management, with at least 3-4 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully planning and executing large-scale events, particularly within the tech industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
