Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Backend Team Lead with a strong background in Shopify app development. In this role, you will lead a team of backend developers to design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient backend solutions for our Shopify apps. You will be responsible for ensuring that our applications meet the highest standards of performance, security, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of backend developers, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of backend systems for Shopify applications.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Ensure that all backend solutions adhere to best practices, coding standards, and security protocols.
- Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to backend performance and functionality.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and updates in backend development and the Shopify ecosystem.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a backend team lead or senior backend developer, with a strong focus on Shopify app development.
- Proficiency in server-side languages such as Node.js, Ruby, Python, or PHP.
- Strong knowledge of Shopify APIs, Liquid templating, and the overall Shopify ecosystem.
- Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and data modeling.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
