Job purpose

  • Increase the intelligence of the businesses with focus on existing and new business developments.
  • Support the Business strategies by increased information about the competitive landscape and to bring information to strengthen the competitiveness of surfactants business in the global market.
  • Understand customer needs by digging into the main applications.
  • Evaluate the best approach on how to deal with the faster developments in the global market.
  • Continuous monitoring a set of relevant sources needed, such as local press, websites, annual report, visit reports, for market information on competition and main customers, to allow PL alkoxylates to make well informed business decisions.
  • Responsible for developing the strategy for business intelligence for Alkoxylates, and to execute its implementation as appropriate.


About the job (Job Responsibilities)

  • Collect, analyze, and share market insights by combing market understanding (e.g., market size, market growth and trends) and customer insights.
  • Track and report macro-economic trends and developments and how it impacts our business.
  • Ensure regularly updated and agreed picture of market (share) database.
  • Track, evaluate, analyze, and share competitor market information from internal and external resources.
  • Execute competitor and key account analysis to understand their strategic intent, product portfolio, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • Analyze and report our competitor’s cost position of key products by cost curve analysis.
  • Provide (forward looking) insights and advice of strategic and business critical value.
  • Develop supply/demand balances for selected product lines in the region.
  • Support new business opportunity development by providing in-depth understanding of the market and applications.
  • Track, analyze and report import/export statistics on a regular basis.
  • Manage contract with 3rd party market information providers.


We believe you bring (Education & Experience)

  • 10 years of working experience in the chemical industry/ chemical business
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in B2B marketing or marketing intelligence
  • Good analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, must be able to manage large amount of data and build the necessary analytical frameworks
  • Capable of working independently
  • Ability to work in multicultural and/or multi-disciplinary teams, networking within and outside Nouryon
  • Good communication skills (verbal and in writing) in English
