Position Overview:

The Deputy Director of Academics will support the Director of Academics in overseeing the academic operations of the institution. This role focuses on maintaining academic excellence, enhancing curriculum development, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality education. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in academic administration and a passion for educational innovation.



 Key Responsibilities:

1.      Academic Leadership:

-       Assist in the development and implementation of academic policies and procedures.

-       Oversee the academic scheduling and course offerings to ensure a balanced and comprehensive curriculum.

-       Support the Director of Academics in strategic planning and decision-making processes.


2.     Curriculum Development:

-       Lead the development and continuous improvement of academic programs and curricula.

-       Ensure that curricula are aligned with industry standards and academic best practices.

-       Coordinate with faculty to integrate innovative teaching methodologies and technologies.


3.     Faculty Management:

-       Assist in the recruitment, development, and evaluation of faculty members.

-       Provide support and mentorship to faculty in teaching, research, and professional development.

-       Facilitate faculty meetings and promote a collaborative academic environment.



4.     Academic Calendar

-       Should be able to plan, prepare & execute the Academic calendar of the institution.


5.     Student Affairs:

-       Address academic issues and concerns raised by students.

-       Implement strategies to improve student retention and success rates.

-       Oversee academic advising and support services.


6.     Quality Assurance:

-       Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and other regulatory requirements.

-       Monitor and evaluate the quality of academic programs through assessments and feedback.

-       Implement continuous improvement processes based on evaluation results.


7.     Research and Innovation:

-       Promote and support faculty and student research initiatives.

-       Facilitate partnerships with industry and academic institutions for collaborative research projects.

-       Encourage innovation in teaching and learning practices.


8.      Administration:

-       Assist in the preparation and management of the academic budget.

-       Oversee the maintenance of academic records and reports.

-       Represent the academic department in various institutional meetings and committees.


Qualifications:

-       Education: PhD in Education, Business Administration, or a related field.

-       Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of experience in academic administration, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

-       Skills:

-       Strong organizational and leadership abilities.

-       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

-       Proficiency in academic planning and program development.

-       Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.

-       Familiarity with accreditation processes and standards.
