Job Overview


We are seeking a proactive and motivated Agriculture Insurance Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in selling insurance products tailored to the agricultural sector, including crop, livestock, and farm equipment insurance. As an Agriculture Insurance Agent, you will be responsible for building relationships with farmers, agribusinesses, and other agricultural clients, helping them understand and secure insurance coverage that meets their specific needs. Your role will involve client consultation, policy sales, and ongoing support to ensure the best protection for their agricultural assets.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Sales & Business Development:
  • Identify and approach potential clients within the agriculture industry, including farmers, agribusinesses, and rural enterprises, to promote and sell agriculture insurance products.
  • Client Consultation:
  • Assess the unique insurance needs of agricultural clients, including crop insurance, livestock insurance, and farm property and equipment coverage. Offer tailored insurance solutions based on risk factors and individual client needs.
  • Policy Management:
  • Assist clients in choosing the appropriate insurance policies, provide detailed explanations of coverage options, and guide them through the application process.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients by offering ongoing support, conducting regular policy reviews, and suggesting additional coverage as needed.
  • Claims Assistance:
  • Support clients with the insurance claims process by guiding them on filing claims, liaising with claims adjusters, and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Market Research & Insights:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, agriculture-related risks, and insurance regulations. Share insights with clients to help them make informed insurance decisions.
  • Compliance:
  • Ensure all sales activities and policy documentation comply with insurance laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Reporting:
  • Prepare regular sales reports, including details of client meetings, policy sales, and market feedback, to inform company strategy.


Key Qualifications:


  • Proven sales track record, preferably in agriculture insurance or a related industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with clients in the agriculture sector.
  • Ability to explain complex insurance policies in simple terms to farmers and rural clients.
  • Knowledge of local agricultural practices, regional climate risks, and relevant regulations.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and basic computer skills.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Professional certifications in insurance (e.g., LUTCF, CPCU).
  • Experience in rural or agribusiness communities.
  • Understanding of crop insurance programs and government-backed insurance schemes.
