Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Community Development Associate to join our team. In this dual-focused role, you will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, driving business development efforts, and overseeing the successful implementation of our Campus Ambassador Program. Your work will directly contribute to expanding our community, enhancing brand visibility, and driving user engagement.


Key Responsibilities:

Business Development (BD):

  • Identify and develop partnerships with colleges, universities, and student organizations.
  • Drive outreach efforts to onboard new users, partners, and ambassadors to the platform.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to design and execute campaigns that boost platform adoption and engagement.
  • Analyze BD metrics to assess effectiveness and optimize strategies.


Campus Ambassador Program:

  • Source, recruit, and onboard enthusiastic campus ambassadors across multiple institutions.
  • Train ambassadors to represent the brand, promote initiatives, and drive user engagement on campuses.
  • Monitor ambassador performance and provide ongoing support via virtual meet-ups and a dedicated Discord channel.
  • Plan and execute campus events and activities in collaboration with ambassadors to increase MapOut's visibility.


Community Development & Engagement:

  • Build and nurture a vibrant online and offline community of students, educators, and partners.
  • Foster two-way communication between the community and the organization, capturing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Design engagement strategies to enhance participation in events, workshops, and platform features.


Operations & Strategy:

  • Maintain a structured approach to managing the Campus Ambassador Program, ensuring scalability and measurable success.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and operations, to align efforts with organizational goals.
  • Prepare regular reports on community development, program performance, and BD progress.


Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in community building, business development, or program management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in planning events and campaigns, with a knack for creative engagement strategies.
  • Analytical mindset to assess performance metrics and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently while managing multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with online communities and tools such as Discord or Slack is a plus.
